Kahn House Chestnut HillKahn house fails at auction: A concrete and wood one-bedroom residence built in Chestnut Hill in 1960 by renowned architect Louis Kahn drew no bids yesterday at auction; the guide price had been $2 million to $3 million. Selling important houses in the manner of an art auction is quite new — a Neutra house sold in California last week for $15 million — but it’s possible the valuation for the property was simply too high. Gun battle coming to courtroom: No, not like it sounds — one hopes, at least. The NRA will ask a Philadelphia judge this morning to permanently overturn five city-specific gun laws, arguing that only the state government has standing to regulate monthly handgun purchase limits and ban certain classes of weapons. The big murder news: none!: That’s right — no one died from being shot, stabbed, beaten, choked, smothered, run over or intentionally drowned this weekend. The Daily News asked local homicide cops the last time that had happened: “It’s been a while” is all they could come up with. [Daily News]
