Philadelphia Weekly Captures Anna Benson
When rumors of the Phillies’ signing free agent pitcher Kris Benson were in the early, long-shot stage last December, the fascination with his wife Anna began immediately. Peter Mucha went first, with his “Pitcher eyed by Phillies has wild wife” story. As soon as the Benson signing was imminent, more stories came, most of which centered around Anna, her penchant for posing in a bikini, her brazen sexuality, and the infamous interview with Howard Stern in which she stated that if she caught her husband cheating, she would have sex with every one of his teammates.
A new Philadelphia Weekly profile by Katie Kilpatrick is a little less raunchy and subdued than most people would like, as Kilpatrick attempts to show a softer, more human side of Anna Benson. But we do find out a few things about Anna: She drives a 7 series BMW (which is, according to her, “boring”); she’s working on recording an album, possibly a book too, and is also interested in sports announcing or television; she’ll probably end up voting for John McCain, even though she’s neither Democrat or Republican, but a “capitalist.”
She also says that she may have put her rambunctiousness to rest — for now:
Everybody deserves a fair shake, and that includes me. I’m not going to sit in the stands with a bottle of Cristal [getting drunk]. Or who knows, I may get a wild hair and decide I might be crazy.
What is this “wild hair” she speaks of, and where does one get it? Maybe that’s the Cristal talking.
