Philly’s old, old giraffe bites it: Farewell, Puzzles. The Philadelphia Zoo’s 27-year-old reticulated giraffe passed away last night after a long battle with giraffe- and age-related illness. The Inquirer offers a formal obit: “She is survived by giraffes Stella, 7, and Twigga, 28, her enclosure mates in the Zoo’s ‘African Plains’ exhibit.” If there is a zoo animal death pool, Twigga would seem to be an easy play.
