Mike Missanelli Says the Radio Waves Will Run Red With Eskin

Mike MissanelliOr, better, that he’ll be Howard Eskin’s “worst nightmare,” according to Michael Klein’s Inqlings column. The brash-talking Missanelli, who has a a history of confrontational relationships with his former colleagues, is back on air in the Philadelphia area after the WPEN shakeups. He’ll host on 950 ESPN between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., overlapping with Eskin’s slot on 610 WIP.

Eskin, still a proponent of beards and fur coats (but not sending flowers to depressed young ladies), took the bait and trash-talked Missanelli right back: “I’m just happy that Mike finally has a job. I just hope he doesn’t hit anybody at this place.”

Missanelli sometimes had his moments when he was teamed up with Steve Fredericks, and they balanced each other out. It was when Missanelli began to think of himself as top-tier talent who could carry a show on his own that things got messy. So, expect his ego to be in full bloom this time around as well. Unsuspecting 950 production interns should really try to avoid the afternoon shifts at all costs. Just a friendly warning.
