John Kruk: Aqua Teen Hero, Wailing Siren
Former Phillies chub-of-love first baseman John Kruk has always proven himself to be an apt comic foil — willing to poke fun at his weight, his career, his beer-drinking. Now, it appears, his love of self-deprecation will be animated: According to Pitchfork, the ESPN baseball analyst is scheduled to appear in an upcoming mind-exploding episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force:
[N]eko Case is among the chosen. She’ll join fellow alt-country lady-crooner Kelly Hogan and– wait for it– former Philadelphia Phillies star (and current baseball analyst) John Kruk as a trio of sirens on an episode fittingly titled “Sirens”.
This, even by the most absurd Krukkian standards, seems, well, patently absurd. Don’t know how Kruk’s singing voice is, but it’s extremely difficult to believe that it’s anything siren-like. Unless sirens belch.

He’s like a less-ethnic, hirsute (on the top, at least) version of Carl. You’d think ATHF would approach Stephen A. Smith first to play a vociferous bag of cheese doodles.
