New Sixers GM Is Ready for Your Questions

Ed StefanskiBrooklyn-based blogger (and diehard Sixers, Eagles and, erm, YANKEES?! fan) “Depressed Fan” recently did his usual bang-up job dissecting new Sixers GM Ed Stefanski’s first trade of popular shooting guard Kyle Korver, which resulted in an unexpected invitation from the Sixers PR department: You wanna interview Big Ed?

DF, of course, jumped at the chance and peppered Stefanski with a flurry of questions about the state of the team in a 20-minute phone chat. This says a lot about the new Sixers regime and their willingness to interact with anybody and everybody about the team. Would Billy King do this? Maybe, but he’s not here, and Stefanski’s certainly doing his part to generate and keep interest for those who really love this squad, especially during a rebuilding year.

Stefanski has made good moves and noise so far but this was a mistake. Fraternizing with a Yanks fan is bad and it’s even worse given the fact that he didn’t give the first blog-interview to the700level.com which is Philly’s finest sports blog.
Stefanski: -1 (for going with wrong blog), +10000 (not being Billy King)

I was just wondering, what was your true purpose of making this trade? Korver was one of your best guys on the 76ers. Since the trade, Jazz has been on a winning streak besides one game, all with Kyle. Now your team has been on a losing streak what is it now? 0-8 for the 2008 new year? Seriously, why lose a guy who could eventually lead this team to playoffs? Kyle averages about 10.5 points per game. On the flip side, Gordan averages about 4 points a game. Now I think this trade was all for money, not to get new guys and fill up some cap space. I just want to let you know that you have NOT been on the good side of MANY people lately, and I for one think you have made the biggest mistake of your career.
