Darren Daulton Will Finally Give the Fans What They Want
Fans of the ’93 Phillies and Darren Daulton, rejoice! Dutch has decided to write another book, but this time he’s leaving all the metaphysical mumbo-jumbo out of it. His literary agent, Laurie Hawkins, has confirmed that Daulton is working on a project about his major-league career that won’t even mention time-traveling or Mayan calendars.
“He’s doing this because he wants to talk about his baseball career and his fans,” Hawkins tells the Daily Examiner. “So many times people have talked about him and he has some great stories to tell.”
So, what will this book be about? Hawkins sums it up as being Daulton’s take on the ’93 team and what it was like being in the middle of a notorious bunch of macho miscreants who still tug at the city’s heartstrings almost 15 years later. But, she says, it won’t be a full-on tell-all: “Darren’s never been a guy to trash people. Will there be stuff that people have never heard before — probably. Edgy stories? Yes.”
They’re still working out the exact details and the scope of the book (Daulton has escaped the cold weather and is in full beach-bum mode right now), but she says that they’re looking to move on this quickly.
And, no, the book will not be co-written by a lizard.
