End Quote: Bang-Bang Boogie, Indeed

Today’s Daily Examiner quip comes from a YouTube commenter, who had this reaction to Michael Nutter’s mind-blowing rendition of the Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight” at the end of his inauguration. So true, so true …

The last sound you heard was Frank Rizzo turning over in his grave.

Mayor Nutter Rocks the Mike [YouTube] (via every single person on the planet, it seems)

Frank Rizzo was one of those rare individuals who really wasn’t moved by any type of music, but i think he would’ve liked Michael Nuter. personally, I like all kinds of music, and I don’t really consider talking to a beat “music”, but that’s just my opinion. I’m impressed, however, that the mayor memorized all those lyric. I’m sure it signifies great things and lower taxes for our fair city.

I am so happy that I stayed. It is great to be the one who showed the Mayor in a “Real” moment. He will never forget this. Rappin for the whole world to see. Let’s hope he does as good a job as Mayor. Another Philly Word Hip Hop History Moment. Holler!! www.myspace.com/phillyword
