Iverson, One Year Later: Sixers Are Dull

Allen IversonYou’d be hard-pressed to say former Sixers supa-star Allen Iverson misses being in Philadelphia, especially when he offers these cutting assessments to the Rocky Mountain News: “I look at the [Sixers’] games right now, and it looks like a rec-league game or an AAU game when you see the attendance there. It just looks dull.”

Cold, man, cold. But true.

In a separate story, salt-and-peppered Sixers writer Phil Jasner examines the Iverson trade on its one year anniversary. (It seems so much longer than that, for some reason). Yes, the stormy relationship between Iverson, this city, this team, his coaches and “practice” needed to end, but it’s still tough to consider that deal as a positive. Especially if you look at the empty seats at the Wachovia Center and the team that’s left behind.
