And Now for Some Potentially Bad News in Philadelphia Sports …
It’s been a constant rumor all year, but after Sunday night’s loss to the Giants, sources close to Andy Reid and the team say there’s a strong possibility Reid may get off the sidelines sooner than expected. All year, Reid’s family troubles have been taking a noticeable toll, and many of his players are biding their time until Big Red makes an announcement. With Marty Mornhinweg already assuming much of the offense, Reid’s a lame-duck coach at this point, just poking around on the sidelines to keep his mind off of his woes. The likely scenario is inserting Mornhinweg in the coach’s seat so Reid can ride out the rest of his contract as Executive Vice President of Football Operations, leaving him more time with his fractured family.
Also, sources are saying with Donovan McNabb most likely spending his last year in Philadelphia, this bye week might be the best possible time for the organization to officially switch gears. McNabb will continue to start (for now), but regardless of how the season turns out, this is most likely his victory lap in Philadelphia.
Anybody that surprised?

I feel queasy. Is this the beginning of a new Dark Age for the Birds?
October 3rd, 2007 at 11:42 am
coach cowher, welcome to philly, please install the run-heavy offense and 34 defense, and get the media off my back.
October 3rd, 2007 at 12:10 pm
Balls, say it ain’t so. I’m really counting on a lack of insider access and complete speculation here. I don’t think I’m quite prepared for the Eagles to suck again.
Sigh.
October 3rd, 2007 at 12:11 pm
Given how horrible the coaching has been this season (hideous play-calling, absolutely no ability to make adjustments), this really wouldn’t bother me that much (aside from the fact that Mornhinweg has already demonstrated that he sucks as a head coach). That said, it has the feel of a soon-to-be-debunked rumor to me…
October 3rd, 2007 at 12:23 pm
Fine with Reid leaving…Marty’s done a better job recently. (End of last season when we won 6 straight) McNabb leaving better be a joke…We still need him. Mcnabb+Marty = First Downs.
October 3rd, 2007 at 12:42 pm
So Ben “Mcnabb+Marty= First Downs” huh? Have you actually watched any of the games this season besides the Lions game? It’s been Mcnabb+Marty all season and the offense is pathetic. I’m ready for the Kevin Kolb era, it’s going to be rough at first but he’s a better QB than Donovan *at this point*. Donovan’s mobility is shot (how many times has he been run down from behind by a defensive lineman this season?) and I’m tired of watching him fire balls at 100MPH at receivers feet when they are wide open. The fact is he’s never been an accurate passer and if you remove the mobility from the equation what does that leave?
October 3rd, 2007 at 12:58 pm
Reid *should* leave his high-horse job in order to protect the public from his boys. And Marty has earned a shot at coaching a team with some semblance of corporate sanity before he’s hammered for being a below average head-coach. Go Phils!
October 3rd, 2007 at 1:49 pm
Oh boy. Coach Mornhinweg? Does it get much worse than that?
October 3rd, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Please send Donovan to Chicago when you’re done with him.
Thanks,
Lovie Smith
October 3rd, 2007 at 2:33 pm
Dave — The one year McNabb had a competent #1 wide receiver he had a 65% completion rate. He throws the occasional ground ball, but he is also the #2 ALL-TIME in terms of interception rate. He doesn’t make a lot of mistakes.
If you want a chance to win a Super Bowl, play McNabb. If you want a 3 year rebuilding period when we already have a veteran defense, bring on the 2nd rounder out of mighty Houston.
October 3rd, 2007 at 2:47 pm
Go Cowboys. Reid should start doing what he already has the face for. Being a plumber.
October 3rd, 2007 at 3:11 pm
Kolb sucks they should have taken Meachem and got a QB this year. McNabb is just rusty but still looks bad. THE EAGLES NEED A RECIEVER, NO MORE HAVING FAITH IN MEDIOCRE THIRD STRINGERS. GET A GOOD RECEIVER NOW. Then Westbrook wont have to carry the team and Mcnabb wont as bad.
October 3rd, 2007 at 3:12 pm
Charles the Philly Homer, newsflash….THE EAGLES SUCK NOW.
October 3rd, 2007 at 5:12 pm
Not ready for the eagles to suck again?
Too late, my friend.
October 3rd, 2007 at 9:29 pm
I saw Kevin Kolb play in college against the kansas jayhawks and the oklahoma sooners.my analysis he sucks quite a bit. the eagles blew this draft. they needed help at receiver and they got a horrible qb.McNabb is trying he took of his brace and he is trying he just was not ready to come back. Andy Reid does not help by bringing in horrible receivers who would be lucky to be the third string on any other team. they need help maybe signing antonio bryant would help but letting reid go is stupid, that would just destroy the lockerroom. Maybe more than T.O. did. Help needs to come and if I dont see improvment it is going to show me they dont care about winning which would tear all the fans up.
October 3rd, 2007 at 11:00 pm
Geesh! The McNabb naysayers have a short memory. It most likely is both Big Red and McNabb’s final year as an Eagle, and to that I say thank you to both of them for some of the best years we’ve all had as Eagles fans. Marty may make a good fit as head coach of the Ealges…don’t forget he coached the Lions under an inept Matt Millen regime. Didnt Bill Belichik have a pretty unremarkable stop in Cleveland? To me, the most unfortunate part of any rebuilding is that we lose some of B Westbrook’s best years. E-A-G-L-E-S in 2008!
October 4th, 2007 at 12:38 am
i hope that this is true. please do’nt get me excited. yes, andy and donovan have had a great reign in this city. but this was the last year possible to reach the promised land. this team, as great it was the past at was at keeping young, its nucleous has quickly gotten old. its breaks my heart too see veterans like dawk and john runyan not get thiers rings. but it is time to make a change. Andy has come up short in too many big games. bottom line, not a good gameday coach. too long has this team undervalued the postion of reciever and linebacker. yes, brian westbrook is the best player we have had in this town, but to not have a bruising back to complement him is ridiculous. it seems too much that the fanbase is smarter than big red. donovan was never strong enough mentaly to do it. physicaly, now, it looks dim. i could go on and on. and im drunk. i love this team. but its time to move on. the window has closed. give the fans what they deserve, a coach and players rhat embody this city’s heart. it starts w/ the return of john gruden.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:42 am
Are you kidding me? This is not “likely” McNabbs last year in Philly. Look at the way his contract is broken down. Also, Kolb got torn up by the Lions the the Eagles lit up with ease under McNabb.
As for LB, we have a young LB group that shows promise. A relatively young group of Receivers and Backers. Our defense is either really young, or up in age. (DAWK)
This is the reality, AR is not going to quit. He may take a sabbatical, but it is VERY unlikely.
McNabb is not leaving. I can’t believe writers get paid to report this garbage.
Mr. Daulerio, you sir, are a moron
October 4th, 2007 at 3:47 am
oh, and for you the window is closing crowd… McNabb is just reaching what should be his pinnacle.
The team undervalues LB and WR? Than why, have they brought in Stallworth, Owens and now Curtis. Neither Stallworth or Ownens played a full season for Philly do to injuries. Also, they brought back Trotter(though they eventually released him) but did bring in TKO. Think before you type. Get off the bandwagon. Many teams in the NFL want McNabb badly.
October 4th, 2007 at 7:23 am
I guess I’m fine with Reid stepping down but they better get someone in here that can get the job done….and his name shouldn’t be Marty M!
As for McNabb, unless the Eagles cut him (which they won’t do), then if the Bears want him they are going to have to give up something substantial to get him. Right now the only players they have that are even worth considering are their LB’s. We know they’re not giving up Urlacher so the next logical move would be Lance Briggs, but he comes with baggage. The Bears would have to throw in some picks.
I say let Reid leave, keep McNabb and get him some quality receivers. Let’s not forget, the Patriots only had to give up a 4th round pick for Randy Moss. Anybody regretting that deal now??
October 4th, 2007 at 8:03 am
WHO SHUT DOWN THE VET….BUCS, that’s right. You guys suck and you will continue to suck, even when you were good you sucked, and your quarterback and running back are the only two good players on the team, other than that you’re all just a bunch of cry babies who puff their chest when they got nothing to be proud of. TAMPA…..BAY…..BUCS
October 4th, 2007 at 8:40 am
what we have going on here is the realization that we definetly should have re-signed jeff garcia, look at what he is doing in tampa bay, also the loss of steve spagnola was very eveident in the giants game as he seemed to know every snap of the ball. we may feel this for awhile but if we can right the ship, we could still be a contender, not a division winner but at least a contender.
October 4th, 2007 at 9:47 am
NOT READY FOR THE EAGLES TO SUCK AGAIN????
HOW MANY RINGS DID REID WIN IN PHLLLY?
OH YEAH ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 4th, 2007 at 9:52 am
I will start a fist fight to defend the eagles…however, I don’t wear rose colored glasses. The window has closed my friends. bottom line. I never liked Big Red. I always liked D-Mac. But, neither of them will ever win the big one. Why would we want anything else at this point?? A championship is the only thing that maters. IT”S THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS. Cheesesteak Boy has proven, that he gets out-coached in every big game we have been in. The best example was the superbowl. We had the lead, should have won, and Beli-cheat made the adjustments, Reid did not. It’s the story of his career. Stubborn dad with criminal kids. McNabb pukes. It’s tough to accept, but it’s time for a new direction.
October 4th, 2007 at 11:26 am
It is very likely the Eagles are going to experience the same downswing that the Cowboys,Packers, and 49ers had experienced for years after being very good teams and the Rams and Chargers are now experiencing.all teams fall from the mountain top eventually and this is the Birds time, the rowdy fans will just get rowdier and more embarrassing to the team and city but they had better get used to mediocrity because it has arrived and Andy sees the writing on the wall, good luck with Marty ball, they will need it.
October 4th, 2007 at 11:26 am
I don’t get it. Some of my fellow Eagles fans bother me. First of all, do we not know how bad of a position we would be in if we didn’t have McNabb and Reid? Putrid. What happened on the field last Sunday was a personnel issue. Winston Justice was an injustice. No quarterback could take that. Getting rid of these two individuals will sabotage our last chances. Have some faith, damn.
And PLEASE stop mentioning Jeff Garcia. He’s gone, deal with it.
It gets on my nerves.
October 4th, 2007 at 11:26 am
Bring in David Boston for WR
October 4th, 2007 at 11:32 am
The problem with Andy Reid is that, unlike Belicheck, he does not play to the strengths of his players. He is great at running a team, but he is not a very good coach. They continue to run the West Coast offense, which relies on short accurate passes, even though McNabb is not accurate and he throws too hard for the recievers to have time to adjust to the ball. Also, as much as McNabb wants to spread the ball around, he is at his best when he has a top reciever to throw to. Also, when your offensive line is one of the best run-blocking O-lines in the NFL, you should run the ball more. On top of that, the D-line and corners are undersized and tend to get abused by bigger, more physical recievers and running backs; that is why this defense is good but not great.
October 4th, 2007 at 11:32 am
Wow. So if I sit at home in my living room, create a blog, and decide that my “sources” think, say, Hillary Clinton is a space alien, can I get people to comment pro and con????
Why would anyone even bother to read this?
October 4th, 2007 at 12:16 pm
Philly fans cracks me up. When times are good EVERYONE is on the bandwagon, when times are turbulant you and the media are ready to throw everyone under the bus. Reading all of the comments I do agree and disagree with some. First, yes, Reid should step down. His mind is obviously not on football the way it should be and not to mention the waste of draft picks and the REAL needs of the team. I don’t feel that the Eagles needed to draft a QB. Letting go of Garcia was just plain D U M B and I am certain whether the organization wants to admit it or not are kicking themselves. Donovan is obviously not back to the old McNabb, not yet. He is one of the best QB percentage ratings of all the QBs in the league and yes it was in large parts to him having a big receiver (hint hint to the organization we need SERIOUS help in that department). Kevin Curtis was a nice additional BUT not the play maker we need. Reid don’t play to his players strength. The playcalling this year has been absolutely HORRIBLE. To lose to the Giants 16-3 (I live in NJ and work in NY goodness sake) was unbeyond pitiful. All NY got was ONE count it ONE offensive touchdown. But to see McNabb kissing the turf 12 times was sickening, who blew that?
Marty as head coach…I think NOT! We need someone who is not afraid to play his players to their strengths, recognize the needs, be smart in the drafts and not let players go who could’ve made a difference. Wasn’t we in this position last year starting 1-3? Winning the division this year will take a miracle because those damn Boys are looking pretty darn good. We can surpass Washington and New York because realistically they suck. But was anyone surprised that the giants D had one up on us….hello they have our frikking old coach for crying out loud so maybe when they come to Philly old Mary or whomever will be play calling will adjust and be two up on them. Lets not quite throw away the season….yet.
Donovan, stop throwing the ball to the ground for your receivers to scoop it up. The name of the game is football not golf! but other than that have lots of love for ya. Bring Gruden back??? That’s a joke, what the hell did he do when he was last here?
Sincerely a chick who will ride or die with the Birds
October 4th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Reid’s sons are not boys, they are men. 24 & 22 years old. They are responsible for their own actions, just as Andy is responsible for not having a punt returner on this team.
Andy Reid’s greatest strength is his greatest weakness, being stubborn, and refusing to change his plan. For the most part it has worked, look at his overall record. When it fails, it looks like the Giants game, or the Steelers game from 2 years ago, Seatle Monday night game, or the Colts game from a few seasons back.
October 4th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
What do you mean McNabb is not an accurate passer, Peyton Manning wouldn’t be too accurate either if he had Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis to throw the football to. Think of the year McNabb had a legitamate receiver in #81 he was one of the most accurate QB’s in the league with numbers looking better than Manning’s that year I recall. McNabb may not have the mobility any more and that’s fine, he still has a laser rocket arm, he’s still strong, he just needs one or two good receivers to help him out. Any time that B-West is our number one receiver that should let anyone know the circumstance our offense is in. And give me some of that stuff your smoking, because it must be great in order for you to say Kevin Kolb who has not played more than 2 series as an NFL QB is better than McNabb who took this team to 4 consecutive NFC championship games and a Superbowl. Bring on Bill Cowher or the Tuna!
October 4th, 2007 at 12:27 pm
Hey now, that’s not a bad thought Cowher or the Tuna for coach. Hell look what Tuna did in all the cities he coached in and has a superbowl ring. And as for McNabb Servant you are absolutely 100++++%%% correct. McNabb’s only niche that bothers the hell out of me is throwing the ball to low at times but yes when he has a legitimate receiver he is right on point. I wish everyone would stop throwing Donovan to the damn wolves
October 4th, 2007 at 12:27 pm
and Cowher has won superbowls also
October 4th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
Enjoy it while you can, because we are wiping your team off the planet in the next 3-5 seasons. Get ready to learn how to lose! GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROMO IS YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!
October 4th, 2007 at 12:35 pm
i do think we need a number one receiver curtis for me just doesn’t have it. the o-line should get better and give d-mc more time.
October 4th, 2007 at 12:48 pm
I think its funny…eagle fans wanted Owens gone and now I’m sure they would take him back in an instant! GO COWBOYS!!!! eagles suck
October 4th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
go cowgirls…what.. hey man the girls have won to unstable teams. the girls made a statement w/the bears well if there offence was at least good you wouldn’t be 4-0 so dont come and say this is a real team. remember last season, birds were told they had no chance to make the playoffs. we just showed everyone and got to the playoffs anddd
don’t forget we finishe number one in the nfc east……
October 4th, 2007 at 1:03 pm
If you don’t win the Super Bowl…the year was a failure! eagles know all about failure!
Nobody cares about who came in second…and nobody cares who won the NFC east last year. You should have keep Garcia since he was a main part of getting you to the playoffs last year…what a dumb ass idea it was to let him go…get used to it…your in store for another failure season.
October 4th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
Losing McChunky would be a nightmare..Kolb is not ready.
Andy can go…but Cowher is not the answer.
October 4th, 2007 at 1:26 pm
Eagles have their ups and downs….. but it will all work out. They will find away to make them strong again. Go EAGLES.
October 4th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
Cowher? Do you really think Lurie is going to spend the cash to get him to philly? Ain’t gonna happen.
October 4th, 2007 at 1:56 pm
Cowher would be a good edition for Philly… They need a change.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
Face it oh woeful Philthy fans. It’s over, done, finished. After squandering one of the longest runs at NFC championship games (remeber the Bills?) in the age of free agency, your window of opportunity is closing fast, if not already closed. These are happy times!
October 4th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
Here’s the bottom line:
Winning the Super Bowl is what we all want. But it isn’t the ONLY thing that matters. In order to win the Super Bowl, you have to have a decent team. As long as you are consitently good, you will win eventually. Only 2 teams have not lived up to that credo - Buffalo and Minnesota. Philly could be the 3rd, but it isn’t that dire yet.
It is very hard to win it all on the back of one good year. The only team that has done that is Tampa Bay, though they beat the Eagles to pull it off. I’d say, of all the supposed big games that Reid has lost, that was the biggest. The Patriots Super Bowl was not expected to be as close as it was - a testament to Reid’s coaching ability. The one year Reid REALLY had a shot was the year he lost to Tampa. Other than that, he’s got a host of big game wins….some just don’t consider them big because they didn’t carry on to the Super Bowl Championship.
Look, only 1 team can be a champion any given year. There is no perfect formula for success. When you look at consistent winners in different eras, there were specific reasons for it. Belichik stumbled onto Brady, and backed him up with a solid D. Johnson got a host of players with the Herschel Walker trade, and that cemented Dallas’ victories. Walsh had Montana, Rice and Lott.
Until last year, the player who never got any bad press, but had underachieved tremendously was Peyton Manning. Being “almost there” was eventually what got the Colts “there”. McNabb and Reid are working a similar path.
As for McNabb being used up, anyone here remember a guy named Elway? A mobile QB who was pretty much considered at the end of his career when he won his FIRST (after 3 failures) Super Bowl?
Give it time, Eagles fans, give it time. Last year, when all seemed lost, Reid showed what a great coach he was. You can’t expect miracles, and we learned that 2 years ago with the McMahon experiment. But you can expect a high level of performance out of McNabb and Reid. The naysayers for Reid point to “big game losses” as their yardstick, ignoring “big game wins” (which, in the NFL, is pretty much every game). The naysayers for McNabb base their comments on 3 mediocre weeks, out of 4, ignoring the reasons why those weeks occurred - none of which had to do with McNabb. They point to the puke in the huddle at the SB, ignoring the probability of a minor concussion when he was hit several plays earlier.
Stop letting the Philly media idiocracy lead you guys around. Think for yourselves. It’s never as bad as the pundits paint it.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:39 pm
Man, I hope you guys don’t get stuck with Gruden like we have, but that’s the rumour here. We get Cowher, you guys get Chucky. hehe. Good luck with that one. He’ll ruin Kolb within the second week of training camp.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
If you guys want, we’ll give you back Childress. Here in Minnesota we really have no use for him.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:20 pm
And the philly fans don’t visit the Cowboy blogs and talk trash?
October 4th, 2007 at 3:41 pm
We America’s Team fans read this blog because we enjoy reading how ya’ll are wollowing in your tears of effluence. We enjoy watching the Beagles lose more than the Cowboys winning. It has always been that way in the NFC East. Of course the Cowboys winning and Beagles losing is even better. Actually, losing is being kind. It has been more like a butt whipping. The Beagles this year are woefully horrible. The Big Red Fat F#$k is in denial, insane, distracted, and over-rated as is McScabb.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:48 pm
Jerry Jones may be gay but he is sitting on the most valuable team in the NFL - TV rights, stadium receipts, ticket sales, and brand recognition. Silver and Grey! Beats Gang Green.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
well, all I know is Tony Romo is 3rd QB, follwing Manning and Brady, and thats where the boys sit. Mcnabb, though, nowhere near the center on the radar. eagles are in for some rough times, but thats only cause you chickenfuckers are sucking WAY too much cock.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:56 pm
No way Cowher comes to Philly; no way he would want to put up with the fans. Besides, da iggles are like that old uncle, you know the one, the one that wears the polyester suit, talks a lot of trash, but can’t deliver on any of it (picture the guy from Vacation). Plus, half the team are AARP members.
October 4th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
Eagles may be out of the “planning” for this year, but I do agree that maybe McNabb needs to step back until he is 100%, he is afraid that he is going to reinjure himself, The Giants game was horrible, but what did many people expect we had 4 of our PRO Bowlers out. sheesh, I for 1 will not give up on my team….
October 4th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
Take him. Someone will knowk his butt off. He slams everyone and in Tampa all his players took his crap, but I highly doubt in Philly he will get away with his mouthing off degrading every player he has on the team. Personally I cannot wait for him to getr the crap kicked out of him.
October 4th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
I thought football was team sport? As for Romo, Manning, and Brady, it comes down to 10/14 at 4:15 PM. Perhaps there will be a shift in the ELITE teams.
October 4th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
Take him. Someone will knock his butt off. He slams everyone and in Tampa all his players took his crap, but I highly doubt in Philly he will get away with his mouthing off degrading every player he has on the team. Personally I cannot wait for him to get the crap kicked out of him.
October 4th, 2007 at 4:38 pm
I’m just looking forward to not having people prove to me they can spell on the train, in every bar I go to, at dinner, on the street, and so on…
Say it with me people:
NINE - TEEN - SIX - TEE!!
October 4th, 2007 at 4:39 pm
First of all. I came to drop bombs. Name a Quarterback who has the stats of McNasty. I bet they either have a ring or 1000 yard backs or receivers. In some cases some others QB’s have both. I am not a defesive coach or something. But I don’t have to be a rocket scientist to gameplan against philly. Stop the short routes, the run, and hope that the receivers are out to lunch… Despite all that. The birds will still win out the East….
October 4th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
I look at it like this The eagles are done this year mcnabb is not finish, he just needs to sit the year out and heal. Yes The eagles need to do what ever it takes to get 2 top notch WRs . Yes I like reid but he needs to go hes like the tuna was to dallas he built a good team but the birds need a new headcoach to get them over the hump, and marty isnt it.
October 4th, 2007 at 4:53 pm
anyone agree?
October 4th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
Uh…NO. How many times do we have to go through this, Philly. WE STINK IN SEPTEMBER.
We ALWAYS rebound after the bye. So lets calm down people. I know you are all clinging to the edge of the bandwagon, but please…its still 80 degrees out. The problem is not Reid or Mcnabb….the problem is they need to raise William Penn up over those other buildings in the city. Till that happens the curse will live on and we won’t win anything…RESPECT THE CURSE>>>>
October 4th, 2007 at 6:53 pm
You guys are LOSERS. The iggles never won it and now you are going to watch your non-dynasty fall apart and another down cycle will start. The GIANTS rocked your world. I remember the bravado from before the season started, got anything to say now? No soup for you.
October 4th, 2007 at 7:09 pm
Big Red is the best coach in Bird history. Let’s not panic. We gave away 2 games, so whose to say we can’t steal 2 from the Cowgirls. Check the schedule, there are a lot of wins out there to be had.
October 4th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Hey, McNabb—Does this mean WHITE COACHES get criticized more when they don’t perform, or is the race card only at your disposal?
October 4th, 2007 at 7:40 pm
Hey Filth…I want you to try and think back…I know its hard for you to do…but try and think back last year when those AWESOME giants beat us at home in SEPTEMBER and it was doom and gloom for the birds…now, I know this really hurts your peabrain, but try to remember how we rocked all the way to through the division…AGAIN!! without our starting QB…Now go to bed and take an advil cause your brain could not possibly go on after all that thinking….LOSER!!!!
October 4th, 2007 at 8:01 pm
IGGLES Suck! How many Super Bowl trophies do they have in their case. Come on, I can’t hear you. I can answer that for you. ZERO! They are chokers, just like the coach and McScabb. Time to rebuild boys. How about bringing back Kotite,I heard he’s available.
Come on, become a romo-sexual. you know you want to. XOXO
October 4th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Man, you stinkin “steers an queers” need some new material. Same old garbage. When was the last time you looked at those trophys anyway. I believe they are fading away by now. We can sit here and talk about the past all we want. Don’t give me “homo” and your four and o record in September either. You will be sitting at home naked with yer favorite steer scratchin yer head an wondrin watt dun happened to yer dag gum OVER RATED losers… and ya know what you’ll say?? “Hey billy bob..least we dun gots dem thopee’s in dat case dare”..
October 4th, 2007 at 9:44 pm
I have to say that being a Cowboys fan for 30+ years that I have alot of respect for NFC East teams. I am pleased with the Cowboys start, but in no way would I take the arrogant attitude of the other Cowboys fans here.
It is ridiculous to consider four games the barometer for a Super Bowl run. The Cowboys have only won one divisional game and that was at home.
I for one would like to see the Eagles, the Giants, the Skins bring their best game to the table against the Boys. No excuses. Win or Lose. I want it to be competetive. That is something we can all agree upon.
I have great respect for the Eagles as they are the team in the NFC East to beat, not the Cowboys. To me, beating the Eagles twice in a year is the barometer for success. The Division and hence the playoffs is through Philly (like it or not fellow Boys fans). Donovan and Reid have shown they have the ability to take this team to the top. Romo and Phillips have yet to prove that. As for us Cowboys fans, many of us fans in the 60′ s and 70’s remember many more runs to the Superbowls and losses than those that fall in the win column. I have eaten my humble pie and will continue to do so until February.

I think its come full circle, NFL, is done, put a fork in it. Overpaid, under educated, Players, all are either drunks, dopers, or wife beaters, there in a league by themselves alright, LOL, a Loser league. What a waste these clowns turn their lives into

I was privy to an exchange between a well respected Eagles Reporter and Joe Banner that stated this from Joe Banner: The idea of Reid quitting is absolutely false! There is no truth to the rumor. Add to the fact that Banner would be on hand for such an announcement (he is presently in Florida) and you have nothing but a GREAT big rumor. Folks…I’m a member of the media here in Philly. There is NO WAY Reid resigns…not right now anyways. BE HAPPY and RELAX!

(I wonder if Parcells would consider Philly?) It’ll be interesting to see if Jerry Jones has solved the puzzle for another SB.

Mike, NFL is done? are you joking? You should check the TV ratings sometime. NFL blows all other sports outta the water. This year’s NFL draft got much higher ratings than the NBA play-off games! NFL is here to stay, and only getting more popular by the year. You may however put a fork in the Eagles. They are done. GO COWBOYS!

Right now this team is where the Tampa Bay Bucs were when Tony Dungy was there. Always a bridesmaid but never a bride. Andy has to go, he is arrogant coach who fails to make adjustments and continually exhibits problems managing the clock at the end of the halfs. The O line should be running the ball more, but Andy is determined to show that he can win doing things his way. As for Donovan, he has never been an accurate passer. I’ll leave with this memorable quote from Buddy Ryan, “If a quarterback is having a bad day, it doesn’t mean the rest of the team has to have a bad day”.

plain and simple run the ball alot more stop putting all the pressure on Mcnabb. especially since he isnt himself and he doesnt have the recievers needed to make things happen. i respect Mcnabb alot but im no eagles fan but they are the only team i like in the NFC east. every other team beat us (bills) in the superbowl. i really hate the cowboys and alot of the cowboys fans are feeling good behind four easy wins. (all terrible teams with the exception of the giants)
all they have to do is put Mcnabb in a position to win games let the ground game get alot more involved, and let the defense become more aggresive with the undersized players they have. cause they play calling have been horrible but the season isnt over yet.

Switch coaches yes, switch out players no! If your coach is a space cadet right now, your team will also be in space. (actually mcnabb is in AZ right now watching the dbacks, isn’t that where where all players go to retire?
warner, smith, james, joyner, buddy ryan. there are even more than that.

This report is crazy. Andy Reid is not going to quit on his team. He build this team and for him to think that they are
not good is not true.
Just like in some previous seasons this team will finish strong, make the playoffs and the Philly non believers will jump back on the bandwagon.

Ok, first to all the cowboy fans, are you guys that bored to come on this site and make fun of the eagles?? Get a hobby…please
As I recall every team has their ups and downs but to just blast the eagles, common now. Route for your team but keep the trash away. As for the Eagles, i do believe Reid will step down not just for the Eagles losing but also his personal life. He wants his face away from the media. Who knows when it will be, but it will be soon. As for McNabb, ill side with the fact that he has no recievers but he is past his time. There is nothing more for him here. Also, to Thomas C, MCNABB IS DONE. OVER. Time for a fresh start. Agreed??
P.S. To all the dallas fans ready to retaliate this message, have fun with your high hopes for a team that is just going to let you down in the playoffs anyways, so enjoy it while you can and when you watch the super bowl, All the Dallas players will be sittin home on their ass watching the same game you are, so enjoy your Dallas team and have a nice day.
