Foxwoods Offers Pittance to Neighbors for Impending Doom

Foxwoods.jpgFoxwoods Resort Casino will pay $1 million to the Special Services District in Pennsport to cover improvements around the area of Reed and Columbus, just 500 feet from the proposed site of its noisy, money-sucking vagrant magnet.

Anti-casino crusader Daniel Hunter scoffed at the ruling in the Evening Bulletin: “From my perspective, it’s a buyout and a very poor one,” Hunter said. “In terms of the cost the city is looking at, it’s about $200 million in detriment.”

Foxwoods officials will return to the city on August 21st to meet with the city Planning Commission to further seek approval of a $560 million site destined to piss off everyone in South Philly for the rest of their lives.
