Kanye West Is Coming to Philadelphia This Fall

Kanye will play Philadelphia on October 4th in his first show in Philadelphia since he headlined the Made in America Festival in 2014.

If you’re a fan, finally strap on your deadstock Yeezy boosts. If you’re not, then maybe head out of town: Kanye West is coming to Philadelphia.

West announced his Saint Pablo Tour this morning on Jay Z’s Tidal streaming service site. He will play the Wells Fargo Center on October 4th. West’s latest album, The Life of Pablo, came out on February 14th.

It’s his first tour since the Yeezus tour in 2013-’14, and his first stop in Philly since he headlined Made in America in September of that year.

Kanye concerts tend to have more of a presentation of a pop show than a traditional rap concert. They’re a weird mix of rap, pop music and Art with a capital ‘A.’ Not only will you see West’s hits, you might also see him go on a 20-minute rant about pretty much nothing with minimal orchestration behind him. It’s great!

West does not play Atlantic City this tour — as he often does — but he is playing the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park on September 30th. But as City of Basketball Love’s Stephen Pianovich points out, this concert is the Friday of a home football weekend. The Nittany Lions play Minnesota the next day. That’s a weekend you might want to travel to Penn State for, if you enjoy Kanye, football and drunk people.

Oh, and one more thing.

The Kimye Wendy’s has been moved from the corner to farther down Chestnut Street. Perhaps we can get them to christen the new location.
