Our friends over at Foobooz told you guys where to dine and drink in Fishtown, our friends at Shoppist told you guys where to shop in Fishtown (duh), and now, my lovely Be Well Philly readers, it’s time for us to tell you where to get your sweat on — and of course, where to refuel with healthy eats afterward.

It’s no secret that a slew of businesses have popped up in Fishtown in the past few years, and that includes fitness studios, bike shops, a float spa (hey, you have to recover, too!), and tons of options for healthy eats — and even a few juice spots! So below, our top Fishtown spots for sweating, grabbing grub afterward, and doing a little shopping — or floating — in between. Psst: For a quick glance, we’ve put together a handy map for you which you’ll find at the very bottom of this post!

Fitness in Fishtown

Amrita Yoga & Wellness
1204 Frankford Avenue.
This Fishtown favorite, just two blocks from the Girard El stop, serves up everything from beginner yoga to aerial yoga to amplified yoga (a class comes complete with a killer — and loud — playlist), with up to 10 classes a day. But what makes it more worth going to than sheer convenience is the gorgeous space: I’m talking skylights and fireplaces, people. Skylights and fireplaces.

Balance Studios Fishtown
1314 Frankford Avenue.
This MMA studio with four outposts will, pardon our French, teach you how to kick ass with Jiu-Jitsu, MMA and self-defense classes.

Grace & Glory Yoga
2200 Frankford Avenue.
If you’re looking to sweat your face off, this is the place to go: You’ll walk out of this hot power yoga studio drenched in sweat with a killer workout under your belt. Conveniently, Little Baby’s is right down the street, so you can easily cool off with a scoop of vegan Thai Iced Tea ice cream if you’re so inclined. (We don’t judge.)

Ciclo
2040 Frankford Avenue.
If you’re looking to get your Spin on, Ciclo is your spot. They’ve got a two-floor studio on Frankford Avenue with 16 bikes, and they’re in the process of adding barre (!!) to the mix. And if you’re into yoga and Spin, note: Grace & Glory Yoga and Ciclo occasionally team up for Ride & Renew (a Spin class followed by yoga) sessions.

Novem
1221 Frankford Avenue and 1732 Howard Street.
This CrossFit box has two locations in Fishtown: one focuses on their boot camp offerings (think a no-barbells approach to CrossFit that doesn’t require any prior CrossFit experience) and the other focuses on your typical CrossFit workouts.

Fishtown Beer Runners
Runs meet at 2346 East Susquehanna Avenue.
If you love running and you love beer, meet your new favorite running club. This crew meets up for a three- to five-mile run every Thursday evening. And yep, you guessed right: That run ends with beer at a different bar each week.

Pacific Yoga
2518 Cedar Street.
This tiny studio is actually a stone’s throw away from Fishtown in the neighboring Kensington neighborhood, but it’s worth knowing about for all the yogi moms out there, as they offer both mommy-and-me classes and prenatal yoga.

Healthy Food and Juice Options in Fishtown

Front Street Cafe
1253 North Front Street.
Whether you’re looking for a fresh-pressed juice, a matcha latte or a side of mushroom bacon, this corner cafe, which has tons of vegan options, has you covered. As a bonus: They also offer free yoga in their outdoor garden on Monday mornings.

Green Aisle Grocery
11 West Girard Avenue.
This pocket-sized store’s shelves are stocked with everything from cage-free eggs to their house-brand preserves to Inspired Brews kombucha, and they also offer their own version of a CSA that mixes items from the store with farm-fresh veggies.

Palm Tree Market
1140 Shackamaxon Street.
Stocked with everything from G.T.’s kombucha to raw organic honey to quinoa pasta, plus a deli that slings vegan chicken cheesesteak sandwiches (that actually taste good!), this corner market is the stuff healthy eaters’ dreams are made of.

Good Spoon Soupery
1400 North Front Street.
This soupery slings seasonal soups and stews made with locally grown produce and sustainably raised meat. You’ll also find Inspired Brews kombucha in their cold case.

Towners Juicery
1255 East Palmer Street.
For a cold-pressed juice fix, head to this tiny juice shop that slings juices, smoothies AND — get this — kombucha smoothies. Say whaaaat? They are also pros when it comes to raw, vegan desserts. I mean, just look at this crazy layered ginger and turmeric cake concoction.

Greensgrow Farms
2503 East Firth Street.
This urban farm, like Pacific Yoga, is technically located in the Kensington area of town, but if you are in Fishtown anyway, it’s worth popping over to for locally grown food from the farmstand, a peek at the farm animals (say hello to the resident pig, Milkshake), and a stop in the greenhouse — if only for the Instagram opportunity.

Recovery Spots in Fishtown

Flotation Philly
534 East Girard Avenue.
This Fishtown float spa comes complete with three floating options, a float tank and a float pod, plus a soon-to-come float cabin, where you can tune out the world and simply float on saltwater for anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Your muscles — and your mind — will thank you.

Bike Shops in Fishtown

Fishtown Bikes-N-Beans
1321 North Front Street.
When it comes to their retail selection, this bike shop specializes in single-speed and fixed-gear bikes, but they tune up and repair everything from cruisers to mountain bikes. And if you’re wondering where the beans come in, they also sell one-pound bags of beans from owner JT Look’s favorite coffee roaster, Vermont Coffee Company.

Firth & Wilson Transport Cycles
1105 Frankford Avenue.
Walking into a bike shop can be intimidating, but the owners at this shop — located in an awesome elevator-factory-turned-storefront space — will make you feel right at home. They have a large retail space filled with gear catering to city bikers, plus a repair space. And note: If you have visitors in town and want to explore the city on two wheels with them, they also do bike rentals.

Soon-to-Come Additions

City Fitness
1424-34 Frankford Avenue.
City Fitness is slated to open a brand-spankin’ new gym on Frankford Avenue this September, and get this: There is going to be a tree growing inside the gym. Like, planted into the foundation. Need we say more?

Stripp’d Juice
1424-34 Frankford Avenue.
Stripp’d Juice, which opened its first storefront in Old City this past November, will be setting up shop in Frankford Avenue’s new City Fitness, with two storefronts: one inside of the gym and one accessible from the street. Sweet, right?

Riverwards Produce
1822 Tulip Street.
This summer, Vincent Finazzo, who sources and delivers local produce to Philly restaurants with his company Riverwards Produce, will be setting up a brick-and-mortar produce shop in Fishtown with a focus on local, affordable produce. Yes, please!
