Likes: long walks through the city.

Meet Bob Barker, your new favorite walking buddy.

This week, instead of an adoptable running dog, we’ve got an adoptable walking dog for you all to “awwww” at — and maybe go scoop up from PAWS 2nd Street adoption center in Old City! (Because despite what us Be Wellers might think, not everyone in the world is absolutely obsessed with running.) Learn more about Bob Barker, an energetic, super social guy, below.

Name: Bob Barker

Age: 6 to 8 years

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier mix

Size:  15 pounds

Background: Bob was found as a stray.

Running style: Bob is more of a power walker than a runner, but he has lots of spunk and energy. He may not be a puppy anymore, but don’t tell him that!

Why Bob is awesome: Bob Barker is a very social dog and has made friends throughout Old City. He charms everyone he meets. In fact, he doesn’t really like to be alone; he would do best in a home where his people will be around most of the time (to give him lots of belly rubs).

You can find out more about Bob Barker (and other adoptable animals) here. If you are interested in adopting him, you can email PAWS at dogs@phillypaws.org, call them at 215-298-9680, ext. 16 or fill out an application here. Her animal ID is A31256923. And for more awww-worthy photos, check out our previous adoptable running dogs here.

………..

We work with The Monster Milers each and every week to profile local running dogs waiting to be adopted. The Monster Milers are a group of runners who help shelter dogs burn off  energy and get much-needed exercise by taking them on runs around the city, and they also just launched their first-of-it’s-kind Adopt a Running Buddy foster program. If you’re not in the market for a pup right now, but would still love to help out homeless dogs, you can always become a Monster Miler volunteer or foster parent. Find out more about how to get started with those processes here
