SugarHouse Casino opened in 2010. It began a $164 million expansion in 2014. That expansion will bring seven new restaurants to the casino, including a Philadelphia branch of the Chicago steak house Hugo’s Frog Bar & Chop House.

The first event in the new space was the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Book of Lists. That’s the image above; it will be reconfigured into a more concert hall-type setting before Rimes’ concert tomorrow.

Noah will be the first comedy act at at the event center, which is 30,000 square feet and seats about 600 for sit-down events with a stage. “Trevor Noah travels all over the world making people laugh, and to see him in the intimate setting of the Event Center will be terrific,” Hamilton said in a different release. “This venue doesn’t have a bad seat.”
