$35,000 Worth of Counterfeit Fitbits Seized in Philadelphia

Today in international counterfeiting news: U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents have seized 350 counterfeit Fitbit trackers at the Port of Philadelphia, according to a press release issued today.
The bands arrived from Hong Kong on December 4th, and a month later, on January 4th, they were declared knock-offs and seized by agents. The bands were worth about $35,000.
The best part about this story is the chuckle-worthy fitness humor woven throughout the press release from Customs and Border Protection, from the headline, “Philadelphia CBP Flexes Trade Enforcement Muscle and Seizes $35k Shipment of Counterfeit Smart Wristbands,” to the lede, “Some people may have an excuse for already abandoning their New Year’s fitness resolution: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized $35,000 in counterfeit smart wristbands recently in Philadelphia.”
