Well, here’s some sad news to kick off the week: Armour, the nearly two-year-old menswear boutique, has closed. The shop was one of a handful of great men’s stores to flood the scene back in 2013; ToBox, Totem and Suitsupply all opened brick-and-mortars, filling a sorely needed gap in our retail landscape.

Owners David and Eric announced earlier this month on Facebook that they’d decided to close the store after “long and careful consideration”:

“Since our arrival in Fall 2013, we have enjoyed being part of the 4th Street/Fabric Row community, showcasing our favorite up and coming local artists and designers and helping to grow the Philly menswear retail scene. Being the new go-to guys for style and commentary on slick fashion and accessories was a roller-coaster ride chock full of laughs, surprises and long lasting memories with our shoppers and affiliates. We are so incredibly grateful for the countless opportunities our newfound partnerships have afforded us. But, most importantly, we would like to thank all of you: our friends, our family and our customers for your loyal patronage and remarkable support over the past two years.”

But it’s not completely over: They duo is planning to launch an e-commerce site. We’ll keep you posted!
