Pennsylvania Is One of a Handful of States Where a Wedding Costs More Than Half of the Average Resident’s Annual Income


It wasn’t even a month ago that we told you the cost of the average wedding had risen to $30,000—and now, we share with you a rather shocking new way to look at that: There is a healthy handful of states in which the average cost of a wedding is more than half the residents’ medium income.

HuffPo took some stats from both the Wedding Report and the Census Bureau, and put together this handy little chart in which you can search out Pennsylvania and gasp that it is marked by the burgundy bar indicating that we are one of those states.

We have provided that gasp-inducing chart, as well as some cost-saving links, below. Whew.
