Poll: Corbett Down, Wolf Up
The Patriot-News reports on the Robert Morris University poll on the Pennsylvania governor’s race. Gov. Tom Corbett is still in a deep hole, and Democrat Tom Wolf—who still has a primary contest to fight—is still on the rise.
Corbett earned a meager 29.4 percent favorable rating from poll respondents, and a 32.5 percent job approval rating. And regardless of their own voting intentions, just 18.6 percent of poll respondents said they expect Corbett to be re-elected.
In other words: They don’t like the job he’s doing. They like him as a person even less. And even his own supporters don’t expect re-election at this point.
As for the Democrats:
The poll suggests that candidate would be York County businessman Wolf, who broke the 50 percent threshold for the first time in an independent poll, earning 51.4 percent support from likely Democratic voters in the Robert Morris survey.
He was followed by U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, 17.3 percent, state Treasurer Rob McCord, 13.3 percent, and former state Environmental Protection Secretary (Katie) McGinty 9.2 percent.
More popular than any candidate? Medical marijuana, which scored a 56 percent approval rating in the poll.
