Andrea’s ring!

The couple: Andrea Chila and Mike Scenna from Philadlephia.

The ring: The ring is a perfect round diamond set on a delicate white-gold band. All I ever told Mike was that I wanted one round diamond. He designed it himself with his family jeweler, Howard Miller, who’s based in Trevose.

The proposal: It was the Friday of my birthday weekend and Mike, had suggested we should start the celebration on Friday night, since we were busy the rest of the weekend (and the Eagles were playing Sunday…).  He had made reservations at Tequilas, which was where we had our first date.

After dinner, Mike said he wanted to get one more drink and that we should walk to Cavanaugh’s, which is where we actually met for the first time. After a drink at Cavanaugh’s, we went home, and Mike said that we had one more “first” to recreate since we had just recreated both the night we met and our first date. He took me to the exact spot in our house where we had our first kiss, and said, “We have one more first”—and then reached into the window sill where he had the ring hiding, and got down on one knee and said the four words I will never forget: “Will You Marry Me?”

The band: Still deciding on the band. I’d love an diamond eternity band, but a single white-gold band might be the perfect fit. Decisions!
