Reminder: Broad Street Run Lottery Opens at 12:01 A.M. Tomorrow

Just a gentle reminder to all the Broad Street Run hopefuls that the 2014 lottery opens tomorrow, Saturday, before the crack of dawn at 12:01 a.m. But before you reach for your phone to set a middle-of-the-night alarm, remember that the lottery will stay open until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, February 13th, so you have plenty of time to get your name in.
Race organizers have sworn time and time again that there is no advantage (or disadvantage) to getting your name in the hat first. In other words, all runners have an equal shot of gaining entry to the race, no matter when they enter the lottery.
To enter, you will need to have your credit card handy. You’ll submit your info along with your payment method, but you’ll only be charged if you make it through. Last year, after I made it through the lottery, I received an email receipt from MarathonGuide.com that went to spam box. So if you want confirmation after the lottery closes (results will be posted on Tuesday, February 18th), you may need to check your spam filter.
Once the lottery opens, you’ll be able to enter here. And, of course, may the odds be ever in your favor.
