Tollefson Expected to Face Charges Soon; Skips Civil Hearing
Charges against former television personality Don Tollefson will likely be filed before the end of January, a Bucks County prosecutor confirmed Thursday.
Investigators say Tollefson might have stolen at least $150,000 and possibly “a couple hundred thousand,” Deputy District Attorney Ryan Hyde said, adding that investigators are nearing the end of their probe.
“It’s not a question of if there will be charges, it’s when,” Hyde said.
A Montgomery County district judge ordered former Philadelphia sportscaster Don Tollefson on Thursday to pay an Allentown couple $3,338 for costs incurred during what was supposed to be an all-inclusive trip to the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans.
The default judgment was entered by Oreland District Judge Katherine E. McGill on behalf of Allentown roofing contractor James C. Krasley and his fiancee, Donna Stroup, when Tollefson failed to appear at the hearing.

The alleged victims have told police that Tollefson sold them travel packages to sporting events that failed to include promised hotel rooms, airfare, or game tickets. Tollefson sold the trips through various fund-raisers for charities with which he is associated.
The allegations came to light in October after police in Warminster began to investigate a claim that Tollefson sold a package to an Eagles away game that did not include all the amenities he promised. More people began to call as time went on, police said.
Tollefson, once a sportscaster for Fox29 and 6ABC, entered an unnamed inpatient facility around the time the investigation began, his attorney, Michael McGovern, said last fall, without describing the treatment.
