Food and Friends Branches Out to Society Hill

According to the liquor license application in the window of the former Union Gourmet Market at 318 S 5th Street, the same people as behind the Food and Friends Market at 20th and Spruce are expanding their operation to Society Hill. The new liquor license shows that the new business will include the market that was previously Zeke’s and the salon next door.

If Food and Friends owner, Jay Choi is indeed planning a similar concept to his market and bottle shop at the 5th Street location, this block of 5th between Delancey and Cypress Streets might just be the most convenient street in the city. A craft beer emporium, next to a State Store and across from a Super Fresh super market, next up a single register.
