Like Bourbon? So Does Jose Garces

At JG Domestic, February is apparently bourbon month because for 28 straight days, the crew there are celebrating the brown spirit like they forgot its birthday.

So how are they celebrating? By pouring it, natch. Lots and lots of it. All throughout the month of February, they’ll be offering two different flights of small-batch bourbons: A $10 “Lawrenceburg” option that brings Buffalo Trace, Maker’s Mark and Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, and an upscale “Versailles” flight for $20 which involves Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon, Woodford Reserve and Black Maple Hill. For an additional $9, the kitchen will create custom bar snacks to accompany your flight.

But wait, that’s not all…

On February 16, the house is throwing a special Woodford Reserve Happy Hour where local drunkards guests can sample some Woodford’s Master’s Rare Rye Collection and Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, while eating off JG’s bar menu. And on the 22nd, there’ll be a Four Roses “Meet The Maker” dinner featuring food, booze and the smooth vocal stylings of Jim Rutledge, master distiller at Four Roses and a guy who knows the kinds of things about bourbon that can’t be found just by drinking a lot of it.

The dinner itself is a killer spread of solid Americana, featuring La Quercia prosciutto, country ham, St. Louis-style spare ribs, macaroni and black kale gratin, housemade pickles, beignets and plenty of booze–most notably the limited edition Four Roses Barrel Strength bourbon.

The cost for the Meet The Maker dinner is $55 (plus tax and tip) and the house is holding it to 50 reservations total. So if you like the brown spirits the way Jose Garces likes the brown spirits, you might want to think about calling JG Domestic right now and making sure you get a seat.
