Good Life: Homegrown: Waxing Poetic

There’s something about Wixwax, Kim and Joe Pacini’s six-year-old
candle line, that’s absolutely spot on.

There’s something about Wixwax, Kim and Joe Pacini’s six-year-old
candle line, that’s absolutely spot on. First, and most obviously, these candles are made in Philly — more precisely, in Mount Airy. Second, they’re composed of clean-burning, soot-free, long-lasting palm wax, which just so happens to — and this is third — form crystalline starburst patterns that appear gem-like when lit from within.

Lastly, and most important, they smell, well, perfect. The candles’
all-natural fragrances and essential oils — our favorites are pure, earthy
sandalwood and tangy-sweet cranberry fig — are subtle and consistent, and
last as long as there’s a wick (and wax). The Pacinis recently introduced two
new styles: creamy-white, environmentally trendy soy wax, and candles in limited-edition jewel-tone glass canisters hand-blown by Hot Soup Glass Studio.
