MISSION: Throw an outdoor fete that hasn’t been done to death — and won’t kill you to plan.

TO THE RESCUE: Doreen Creede and Gina Pierantozzi, owners of The Redecorators in Philadelphia, give four easy tips for pulling off a solstice soiree you can host June 21st — or any warm summer night.

1. Keep the table modern yet warm with a simple gold-and-white theme.

2. Instead of tiny votives that get lost amid the place settings, mass large hurricane lamps — such as the ones above from Arteriors Home — at one end of the table. “We like bold, dramatic gestures,” says Creede.

3. Hang sheers around the backyard to create an outdoor room, and layer them over the tablecloth for a soft look. “It gives this beautiful, dramatic feel to the whole space,” says Creede. “Imagine a nice breeze going through your backyard and everything is just billowing.”

4. Don’t be afraid to experiment. “Each place setting has a different touch,” says Creede, who mixed two styles of salad plates and different pieces of new and vintage jewelry for napkin rings. “There was a little eye candy on the table that you kind of discovered as you sat down,” says Creede. “A little treat for your guests.”
