The Good Life: 5 Things to Love This Month: Sneaker Immortality

Those of us who ran (and, to be completely honest, nearly won) Broad Street last month briefly considered bronzing our beloved Asics. Instead, we’ll send them to a better place via Rittenhouse Sports Specialties. The shop (where I got my sneaks in the first place) participates in Nike’s “Reuse-a-Shoe” program, wherein wearable pairs get donated to new owners, and worn-out models become surfacing for playgrounds, basketball courts, running tracks and soccer fields. Which means high-performance athletes like yours truly could end up running in and on their running shoes. 1729 Chestnut Street; 215-569-9957.
