Pulse: Chatter: Philadelphians to Watch, September

Who: Jennifer Yaron, 24, and Marguerite McDonald, 26, the pair who recently founded F.U.E.L. (Fostering Undergraduate Exposure on Location), an art gallery located in the former Seamen’s Church Institute, better known as the onetime home to the Real World cast.
Why: F.U.E.L. highlights emerging talent by showcasing work of students and local up-and-comers. In addition to hosting exhibitions, Yaron and McDonald give their artists a boost by helping with event planning and promotion.
Why they matter, culturally speaking: Because no, the arts in Philly will never be like in New York, but by giving lesser-known talents some much-needed attention, the pair is helping to broaden — and hopefully deepen — the local scene.
