The New England Patriots host the Houston Texans tonight as Thursday Night Football kicks off Week 3 of the NFL season. The game, which begins at 8:25 p.m., will air on CBS.

In the Birds 24/7 Week 3 picks column, Brandon, Josh and Chris all picked New England, while the readers voted for Houston. Both FiveThirtyEight’s forecast and ESPN’s Football Power Index gives the Patriots the edge.

Rookie Jacoby Brissett will start for the Patriots at quarterback with Tom Brady suspended and Jimmy Garappolo injured. However, New England didn’t add another quarterback to the roster, so wide receiver Julian Edelman will be their emergency quarterback.

As for the Eagles’ Sunday matchup against the Steelers, all three writers picked Pittsburgh, while the readers selected Philadelphia. To make your selection for every NFL game this week, click here to vote.
