With the latest news, that Tom Coughlin has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Eagles’ head coaching vacancy, comes a new report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who says the Eagles will now turn their pursuit to Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson.

Birds 24/7’s own Tim McManus hopped on 97.5 the Fanatic this afternoon to discuss the coaching search, and said that it seems the Eagles have moved on to Plan C or Plan D at this point after being refuted multiple times.

Tim said the team’s pursuit of Ben McAdoo is what likely spurred the Giants to move quickly last night, and that one of Coughlin’s main reservations — and reasons for withdrawing — was the difficulty he would face in building a good coaching staff, considering a lot of his people are staying in New York with the Giants.

And then there’s this from Tim, on Pederson, whom the Eagles have apparently targeted as their top candidate with Coughlin out of the picture.

The past 24 hours have been very interesting, to say the least. Here’s to another 24. We’ll keep you updated right here.
