The Eagles confirmed that they completed their interview with Tom Coughlin late Monday afternoon.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Coughlin and Jeffrey Lurie met one-on-one before the official interview began.

“Tom Coughlin met today privately with Jeffrey Lurie first. They had their meeting, then Tom Coughlin went into the rest of the group and met with all of the Eagles interview group — because it’s been a big traveling party,” said Schefter (h/t Crossing Broad). “The question for the Eagles is, do they want to go with somebody that they know and that is experienced like Tom Coughlin, or do they want to go with a coach that they can build around for the next 10, 15 years like a Ben McAdoo, like a Doug Pederson, like a Pat Shurmur.”

The Eagles are not the only team showing interest in the former Giants coach. According to Ian Rapoport, the Niners have received permission to interview Coughlin for their head coaching vacancy.

Coughlin has a career coaching record of 182-157 and has hoisted a pair of Lombardi Trophies. He is tied with Bill Cowher for the seventh-highest playoff win total in NFL history (12).

We’ll pass along more details as they emerge.
