The Eagles are finally back in a 1:00 Sunday slot, and they’re playing in Philadelphia for the first time in nearly a month as the Dolphins pay a visit to the Linc. We’ll pop in with some updates and thoughts from time to time. Feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.

4:17 – FINAL: Dolphins 20, Eagles 19. Mark Sanchez throws short of the sticks on fourth down, Jordan Matthews can’t hold on to the ball, and the Eagles turn the ball over on downs.

Miami takes two kneel-downs, and the Eagles fall to 4-5.

4:12 – The Eagles sack Ryan Tannehill on third down and eight to go with 1:51 to play. One last chance for Mark Sanchez and the Birds to top the Dolphins.

4:03 – Mark Sanchez throws an interception in the red zone after leading the Eagles to the 18-yard line, and an Eagles fan in front of the press box throws his kelly-green toque in disgust.

The Dolphins lead, 20-19, with 4:26 to play. Miami takes over at its own four-yard line.

4:01 – A quick update on the Dallas Cowboys.

3:59 – Ryan Tannehill and Miami can’t escape the shadow of their own end zone. The Dolphins punt the ball away and the Birds take over at midfield with 6:28 to play.

3:57 – More news from Sam Bradford’s injury.

3:56 – The Eagles pick up one first down after stuffing the Dolphins on the previous drive, but back-to-back incomplete passes from Mark Sanchez result in Donnie Jones punting the ball away.

Miami takes over on its own two-yard line with 7:58 to play in the fourth quarter, still leading the Eagles, 20-19.

3:47 – Dolphins 20, Eagles 19. Caleb Sturgis buries a 37-yard field goal with 10:20 left in the fourth quarter.

3:46 – Jordan Matthews takes a huge hit and has “the wind knocked out of him.” He will return.

3:41 – An illegal shift on the Eagles and a ’12 men on the field’ penalty on the Dolphins offset and negate a Mark Sanchez touchdown pass to Zach Ertz.

The Eagles still trail the Dolphins, 20-16, with 10:54 to play and the ball at Miami’s 18-yard line.

3:38 – Injury updates.

3:37 – Replay of the looping Landry touchdown that put Miami up by four.

3:33 – Great point from Reuben Frank on that wild Landry touchdown.

3:32 – Dolphins 20, Eagles 16. A batted Ryan Tannehill pass flies into the air and lands in the hands of Jarvis Landry for a touchdown.

3:29 – End of the third quarter. The score is still Eagles 16, Dolphins 13. After a long completion to Rishard Matthews, Miami has the ball on the Eagles’ eight-yard line to start the final quarter.

3:27 – More injury news from the Linc.

3:26 – Bradford injury update.

3:23 – A little injury analysis on Bradford from the always solid David Chao.

3:19 – Sam Bradford gets hit hard during the throwing motion, fumbles the ball, and has to come off the field with an apparent shoulder injury. Mark Sanchez enters the game and promptly picks up a first down.

Bradford is heading to the locker room.

3:13 – The Eagles offense has slowed down precipitously since its hot start.

3:12 – Birds 24/7 photographer Jeff Fusco brought his A-game to the Linc this afternoon.

3:09 – Another high snap from Jason Kelce goes over Sam Bradford’s head on third down and the Eagles have to punt it away for the second time in as many second-half drives. Dennis Kelly recovered the fumble about 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

3:04 – Mychal Kendricks makes an impressive play on third down to get the ball back to the Eagles’ offense.

2:56 – The Eagles’ first offensive drive of the second half ends in Miami territory when a Sam Bradford throw to Miles Austin falls incomplete. The Dolphins take over on their own 13-yard line.

2:50 – Halftime update on the Birds’ third down conversions.

2:40 – Two very un-related tweets to take in during halftime.

First, Chip Kelly play card watch gets a look at something interesting.

Second, there are zebras in West Philadelphia.

2:39 – HALF: Eagles 16, Dolphins 13.

Both teams trade ineffective possessions and a roughing the passer call saves a Sam Bradford pick-six in the final moments of the second half.

2:24 – Contrary to expectations coming in, DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews haven’t been dicing up a suspect Miami defense line.

2:23 – The Eagles respond by stuffing the Dolphins on three consecutive plays, and a solid Darren Sproles return gives Sam Bradford and the Eagles’ offense the ball on their own 33-yard line with 2:57 left in the first half.

2:21 – Sam Bradford is strip-sacked on third down and three yards to go. The Dolphins recover the ball, and then fumble it themselves, and Bradford recovers the ball on his own three-yard line.

Allen Barbre was also called for a holding penalty, which Miami declined. The Eagles punt the ball away on fourth down and 27 yards to go from their own three-yard line.

After an unsportsmanlike taunting penalty backs the Dolphins up after the Donnie Jones punt, Miami takes over on its own 37-yard line with 4:50 to go in the first half. The score is still 16-13, Eagles.

2:10 – Eagles 16, Dolphins 13. Lamar Miller catches a 13-yard wheel route on the left sideline and runs it into the end zone.

Miami scores 10 points in 2:29 of game time.

2:09 – Not the best special teams day for the Eagles.

2:08 – Miami blocks a Donnie Jones punt and takes over on the Birds’ 12-yard line with just over six and a half minutes left in the first half. The Eagles still lead, 16-6.

It’s been a strange game.

2:07 – An unlikely candidate for this stat, but it’s been a wild game.

2:04 – Domo updates us on Ryan Tannehill’s success on third downs this afternoon.

2:01 – Eagles 16, Dolphins 6. Jay Ajayi runs all over the Eagles’ defense on the Dolphins’ fourth drive of the game, picking up 44 yards, but the Birds stiffen up at the goal line and keep Miami out of the end zone. Andrew Franks kicks a 22-yard field goal with 8:18 left in the first half.

1:52 – Quite the picture of the Walter Thurmond hit on Ryan Tannehill that resulted in the first-quarter safety.

1:50 – Still Eagles 16, Dolphins 3. Another long completion to Brent Celek, who now has a round 120 yards receiving in the first half, led the Eagles into the red zone, where Caleb Sturgis missed a 32-yard field goal.

Bradford is now 9-for-11 for 151 yards and a touchdown.

1:46 – End of the first quarter: Eagles 16, Dolphins 3. The Eagles will have the ball at the Miami 47-yard line when the second quarter begins.

The Birds out-gained the Fins, 146-57, in the first quarter.

1:37 – The Dolphins pick up a first down but are forced to punt it away before crossing midfield. Sam Bradford and the Birds take over from their own 29-yard line after the punt is partially blocked.

Bradford is 5-for-5 for 95 yards and a touchdown through two drives.

1:34 – Eagles fans enjoying this one so far.

1:33 – In case you missed what happened on the Dolphins’ confounding failed kickoff return.

1:31 – Eagles 16, Dolphins 3. Ryan Mathews punches it in from one yard out and the Eagles score their second touchdown of the first quarter.

The Birds have run 14 plays for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the first 10:17.

1:28 – Good context from Reuben Frank for Celek’s long first-quarter catch.

1:26 – Eagles 9, Dolphins 3. Walter Thurmond sacks Ryan Tannehill in the end zone with a powerful blind-side hit, the ball bounces out of the end zone, and the Eagles record a safety.

The Birds will take over from their own 43-yard line.

1:23 – A national take on the Dolphins’ confounding kick return after the Eagles’ touchdown.

Miami takes over on its own 1-yard line after the botched return.

1:20 – The Eagles start uncharacteristically fast.

1:18 – Eagles 7, Dolphins 3. A 60-yard pass to Brent Celek on the Birds’ first offensive play of the game sets up a two-yard touchdown pass from Sam Bradford to Josh Huff on third down and goal.

Bradford goes 2-for-2 for 62 yards and a touchdown on the drive.

1:15 – Domo reminds us the Eagles’ defense hasn’t been great with beginnings this year.

1:13 – Dolphins 3, Eagles 0. Andrew Franks boots a 42-yard field goal after a Fletcher Cox sack on third down keeps the Dolphins from extending their first drive any further.

The Dolphins converted two third downs on the drive, including a 35-yard wheel route to Lamar Miller with Mychal Kendricks in coverage.

Miami’s opening drive goes 44 yards on 10 plays and one penalty, and lasts 4:33.

1:09 – Jimmy Kempski notes the Eagles are already missing Jordan Hicks.

1:04 – The Eagles win the toss and choose to defer. They’ll receive the ball to start the second half.
