When the Eagles’ first-team offensive line set up at Tuesday’s practice, Jason Kelce took his usual spot at center.

Later, when the centers lined up with the quarterbacks, Kelce snapped to starter Nick Foles.

That’s a change from last week and could be a sign that Kelce’s aiming to return Sunday against the Houston Texans. As for the rest of the line, Jason Peters and Lane Johnson took their usual spots at left and right tackles. Right guard Todd Herremans suffered an elbow/arm injury against the Cardinals, but he was out there as well.

Keep in mind, though, Tuesday is a light practice without pads. We should learn more about Herremans after practice.

Asked yesterday about Kelce, Chip Kelly said: “He wasn’t going to go last week. I think with Jason and that injury, it’s not something that we want to rush him back early and then all of a sudden he misses an extended period of time after that. We want to make sure he’s 100 percent healthy. You’ve got to get him back into it.

“He did a good job in terms of what he could do and couldn’t do last week. He jumped in a little bit in team drills, really being a look-squad guy for our defense and doing some different things and probably had some residual soreness from it just because he hasn’t played football in a while, but it didn’t seem like there was anything that affected the injury, so we’ll see how he progresses this week.”

The guess here is that Kelce will try to give it a full go this week with hopes of playing Sunday, but he made it clear last week that he does not want to experience a setback.

The only two Eagles not participating in practice were Brandon Boykin (hamstring) and Nate Allen (hamstring). Billy Davis didn’t seem to think either injury was particular serious.

More updates coming after practice.
