Observations: Eagles Vs. Jets

Here’s what we saw during tonight’s Eagles-Jets preseason finale.

OFFENSE

* We have to start with special teams. Easily the most exciting moment of the first half came late in the second quarter when the Eagles set up for a 54-yard field goal. Cody Parkey came in and nailed it. Yes, it's only the preseason, but Alex Henery's career long is 51 yards. Parkey later connected from 53 yards out. As McManus pointed out, the new kicker figures to have a big crowd around his locker after the game. And he may have just earned a spot on an NFL roster.

* Matt Barkley had more good moments than bad. He completed 22 of 34 passes for 274 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He started the game with a zone-read run. As @ChipWagoneer pointed out, the Eagles used a lot of pistol in the first half.

* The Eagles got an injury scare early. Right guard Matt Tobin got hit on his left ankle and headed for the locker room. He got X-rays, which were negative, but did not return. Tobin has had a fantastic preseason and figures to be the Eagles' top G/T backup if he's healthy once the regular season starts.

* Henry Josey continues to play well. He piled up 109 yards on 19 carries, including an 18-yard gain and a 12-yard gain. Matthew Tucker looked good, running six times for 39 yards. Kenjon Barner had five carries for 21 yards. He also handled punt return and kickoff return duties. Barner suffered an ankle injury; X-rays were negative. Tucker suffered a shoulder injury. Chris Polk (hamstring) did not dress.

* Barkley looked for Quron Pratt in the end zone in the first, but it looked like Pratt slowed his route, and the ball was picked off. Barkley later connected with Arrelious Benn on a 43-yard TD down the right sideline. And in the third quarter, he ran one in from 7 yards out.

* Damaris Johnson is unlikely to make the 53, but he put some good stuff on tape tonight. Most notably, Johnson played RB, made a nifty move and took off for the end zone on a 46-yard touchdown.

DEFENSE

* The only projected starter who suited up was nose tackle Bennie Logan. Vinny Curry and Brandon Bair joined him on the defensive line. Damion Square and Beau Allen rotated in. At outside linebacker, it was Brandon Graham and Marcus Smith IITravis Long's snaps came at inside linebacker later in the game. Najee Goode and Emmanuel Acho lined up inside to start the game.

* The starting cornerbacks were Roc Carmichael and Jaylen Watkins. The safeties were Earl Wolff and Chris Maragos.

* Michael Vick played just one snap and handed the ball off. He got a nice ovation from the crowd. The defense held starting QB Matt Simms to 7-for-17 passing and 121 yards in the first half.

* Watkins had an excellent first series. He made an open field tackle, broke up a pass over the middle and made another tackle in space.

* The Eagles held the Jets scoreless in the first half. The lone hiccup was a 50-yard completion on what might have been a blown coverage.

* In the third quarter, rookie safety Ed Reynolds did a good job getting to the ball down the left sideline. He was in perfect position for an interception, but let the ball slip through his hands. The result was a 42-yard touchdown.

* Earl Wolff came up in run support and forced a fumble late in the first half.

* In the second half, Bryan Braman had a sack from the left outside linebacker spot. Taylor Hart had a forced fumble. And Long had a sack on a delayed blitz.

there ya go parkey get some.

    • All In Eagles

Two 50+ yarders? and how many touchbacks? If more than zero, get him on board!

      • Tanner Cleffi

It was 1 touchback, but another should not have gotten brought out, and the returner got stopped before the 15 yard line. (So you can add another touch back on that count for him)

  • All In Eagles

I’m all in with Josey and Parkey, Polk has to be let go, sorry fella.

    • igglesfaninportland

Hard to argue but I sure liked what I saw of Polk in real games last year. Does that mean anything? Keep 5?

  • Kleptolia

    Matt Barkley.

Slowest 7 yards of all time.

    OF ALL TIME.

    • All In Eagles

I’m the furthest thing from a Barkley fan but 6pts is 6pts.

      • Kleptolia

Not arguing with that. It was fun to watch, in a suspense film sort of way!

    • Johnny Domino

      Make Foles look fleet afoot.

    • JosephR2225

      Glacial speed.

    • macadood
      • Kleptolia

Took him all 3 downs to get into the endzone on that play, yet he didn’t get tackled once

  • Kleptolia

    G. J. KINNE.
    That is all.

  • andrewc23

Thinking maybe they can short term IR Polk and keep Josey and one of other two

    • Warhound KnowsHstryWarts&All

Nah, sorry but that would be a waste of the short term IR slot.

  • Token

Barner had 10 yards on a run. So 4 for 11 in the other carries. Yuck.

    • mksp

      It doesn’t work like that.

      • mksp

And I don’t even like Barner.

      • Token

Sure it does. Gives you a better idea of the performance. Guy makes nothing happen on his own.

        • Warhound KnowsHstryWarts&All

Yeah, that 10 yard run is an outlier.

    • Jerry Pomroy

I just don’t see how you could possibly keep Barner over Josey at this point. We need a back that could potentially carry the load in case of injury to Shady & I don’t think Sproles could be that guy.

      • Kleptolia

I think Barner could handle it well enough, but I also think Josey deserves a shot. He’s earned it. That will be an interesting decision.

  • George

Parkey is the next boobie miles

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCy2Kyv52Tw

  • B-West

Damaris as the 6th WR? Barner isn’t showing much as a returner, and we gotta have somebody back there until Huff gets healthy. And I know Johnson hasn’t shown much as returner in his career, but I think I’d rather have him than Barner. We keep the pick and maybe Josey if we go with Damaris

    • Token

We have seen plenty of Damaris at returner. He blows. But so does Barner. I dont want either returning kicks really. But if I was forced to chose id go Damaris. If you are keeping 6 WRs its hard to say Benn or Maehl is a better option. But its not hard to imagine a WR is about to be cut that is a better option then any of them.

      • Will, Always Shady in CA

        Can Josey play KR/PR?

        • Andy Six Score and Four

He has a little KR experience from Missouri, but not enough that I’d want to bank on him back there. In-game injury replacement maybe.

          • Token

Given that Chip has force fed Barner every kickoff chance the last two weeks id guess barner will be the returner.

          • anon

            or dj2

          • Jerry Pomroy

There may be someone that is a RS, but not much else to offer that gets cut. I’d rather go that route.

  • irvin792

I really wanted Momah to make the team :(

  • Glenn

Looked like Henry Josey earned the 3 RB spot. If he didn’t, I am not sure what more a person can do to make a team. Parkey looked pretty darn good. Nailed touchbacks. He kicked two 50 plus field goals tonight that were longer than any FG Henery kicked in his career!!! Fact. Right, Matt?

    • Jerry Pomroy

I missed the game due to some night classes I’m taking but from what I’m reading, it appears that Parkey hit from 54 & 53, both beating Henery’s career long. Yes, those are facts!!

      • Glenn

Yes. Both with room to spare. And the touchbacks were also key. Nice to see a kicker with a good leg! Still worried about Parkey’s accuracy, and wished McManus wasn’t traded. But honestly, am now worried about Henery’s accuracy, and if the recent scrutiny has gotten in his head.

        • Jerry Pomroy

Why would you say that you are worried about Parkey’s accuracy? Hitting from that distance isn’t just about leg strength. You actually have to be more accurate because of the distance. If you’re off slightly, the further the kick, the further off target the ball carries.

          • Glenn

Agreed. But at Auburn, he had a rep for kicking a 54 yd FG, followed by missing a 34 yd FG. He was inconsistent as a senior in college. 14-19 is not a great percentage. Missed the big 33 FG in the BCS championship. Just saying. I still like him better than Henery. But Parkey is not a slam dunk. Great leg. But I question his consistency, esp in pressure situation. He looked awesome tonight!

          • Jerry Pomroy

Oh ok, gotcha. You meant long term over multiple attempts. Listen, I’ll take a young guy that has the strong leg to at least attempt from 50+ over a veteran guy who may be money from inside 35yds. My reason is simple, you have more opportunity for valid attempts because of the stronger leg AND they are young enough that they can improve on their accuracy. The kid from the sounds of this performance has earned a right to continue to compete. If they cut him after this in favor of Henery, barring he doesn’t stink it up in practices, there should be a mutiny. Henery is done. He needs more than a couch session, he needs a hypnotist.

          • Glenn

Agreed. I think Henery has lost the confidence of the team. So, it should be between Parkey, and a kicker who is a free agent after final cuts. Not Henery.

          • Jonathan R. Henry

I agree. Take the guy with leg talent. Akers was basically a kickoff specialist/long ball guy until he honed his craft and became one of the top 2 kickers in the league for a while.

        • Token

My boy McManus missed from 52 and 54 tonight. So not even god himself can make them all from out there.

But I think the kid from Buffalo is probably pretty close to Parkey. So you may as well just roll with this kid and see how it goes the first 4 weeks.

    • OverreacSean Jackson, #culture

Looked like Henry Josey earned the 3 RB spot. If he didn’t, I am not sure what more a person can do to make a team.

      Go to Oregon.

      • Jerry Pomroy

        Boykin?? You change your name?

        • OverreacSean Jackson, #culture

Full scale change. Felt like it was time. Haha

          • Jerry Pomroy

            Ok cool, just checking.

          • eaglespur

that avatar is crackin me up

        • MagatBrackendale

‘buff little raisin’. Made me laugh out loud.

          • Jerry Pomroy

No I was asking “Measureables, LOL” if he was the former “Brandon Boykin, LOL”, and prior to that “Brandon Boykin, LOLB”.

      • eaglespur

josey is exciting… coaches know how “complete” he is, there’s a lot required of the running backs… all that is required at the position. can they keep him and get him to completeness? shady needed a few years too, i believe. but if there’s anyone with a chance to be shady-like, josey may be it, he almost always finds a way up the field. amazing and fun to watch, even if it is only preseason.

        • OverreacSean Jackson, #culture

Really, really not trying to be a jerk. I’ve just grown highly bearish on this topic. Doesn’t matter how good he looks, runs, blocks, fields kicks, fields punts– Barner is making it over him. I love Josey. Liked him at Mizzou. But Mizzou ain’t Oregon.

    • Token

The philly media seems to love Polk. Many fans too. I guess im in the minority. I dont care much about him either way. He had like 11 touches last year. So I dont think you can take much from that. Hes got some talent. But hes also a 24 year old that always has something lingering. At a position where you take a beating. I think Id just move on.

What people should be really worried about is keeping 4 RBs and cutting BOTH Josey and Tucker to keep Polk and Barner. I think that may be the most likely scenario.

      • Jerry Pomroy

That would be just stupid. I’d go completely the other way. Shady, Sproles, Josey & Tucker. If they kept 5, then I’d consider Barner still over Polk. I’ve had concerns about him & his being injury plagued all offseason. If (pray it doesn’t happen) Shady were to be lost to injury, I’d feel pretty confident in Josey caring the bulk of the load with Sproles sprinkled in and Tucker as the power back.

      • Andy Six Score and Four

You would think that’s the most likely scenario.

      • All In Eagles

I don’t see why we should keep Barner. I’m not against it and he’s been in Philly for like half a day so, nothing against him. But I don’t see why it’s a must that we keep him. I’m guessing because he can handle returns?

        • MagatBrackendale

          Oregon connection.

          • All In Eagles

It’s not enough, especially when Josey did what he did. If another RB flubbed and did nothing, sure, keep it in the family.

          • MagatBrackendale

I meant that is Token’s thinking. I believe that in the end Chip wants to win. Period.

      • MagatBrackendale

        .

        • All In Eagles

The Oregon thing has to be fading, I dont’ see us keeping Maehl again this year.

      • borntosuffer

Agree. Keep your performers. But, is there any difference in the special team’s performance of these 4? Gotta keep Josey, right? Just have to.

  • cliff h-MOAR white goons

    how’d Marcus Smith II play?

    • Clamdigger

He got close on a couple of pass rushes, but wasn’t much of a factor in that regard. I feel he’s usually really good against the run. This game was no different in both cases.

      • cliff h-MOAR white goons

well, thanks…i think. smells like ms2 is going to be in sweats on gameday a lot.

        • anon

It’s ok it’s not like he’s a our first round pick. I’m just going to say Matthews was our first and our 2nd just needs some time to get acclimated to playing football.

          • cliff h-MOAR white goons

you hearing any other olb tearing it up? honestly, i havent followed barr, mack, lawrence is basically done for yr w/ foot, atta-guy and murphy.

          • anon

We could have just taken someone else we didn’t have to reach for OLB. Could have grabbed another receiver — heard lots of OLBs coming next year. Reality being Smith is going to chill on the bench.

I’ve heard Mack has highlights but we couldn’t have gotten anything other than who we got.

          • MagatBrackendale

Barr had already had 2 sacks last week and looked right at home. Got in some “hurries” too. M. Sam also has 2 sacks. Hmm. That doesn’t sound quite right somehow.

          • Yes_General

Mack has played extremely well this preseason. I watched a few Raiders games. I also agree that Michael Sam has played better than Marcus Smith with ‘less time on the field’

        • All In Eagles

This all goes back to draft day, when everyone said, who? It’s very disappointing that a first round pick has very little shot to have an impact (or even suit up!) in his first season.

    • Token

One series he whiffed on a tackle and then the QB went right by him. Hes not getting activated this year. I wish he broke a finger so we could IR him and save the roster spot. I think theres so athletic ability there but hes got much work ahead of him.

Youd like to see a 1st rounder at least flash against guys that wont be playing in the NFL Monday morning. He really didnt tonight.

  • Chuck Dougherty

now, can we go ahead and give Henery a swift kick to the curb?

    • BlindChow

maybe we could even let Parkey do the honors?

      • Jerry Pomroy

Maybe he could make that kick from 50+???…lol.

  • Glenn

I feel pretty confident in saying that Josey is the best pure injury replacement we have for McCoy. I think Josey has the potential to do very well, if needed for a game or two, as a full time back. More so than any other backup RB. I would feel very good having Josey and Sanchez as backups at the two most important positions.

    • Jerry Pomroy

He’s arguably the best inside runner on the squad and he’s good for about 2-3 splash plays (big gains) as I like to call them.

      • Glenn

If the guy doesn’t make the roster, it is a mistake. He will not clear waivers. Polk and the others would clear waivers.

        • All In Eagles

Agree. With his College tape and now this preseason tape, he will definitely be picked up by someone. You have to find a way to keep him. I liked Tucker too and I think he’s a bit bigger (better blitz pickup?) but Josey surpassed him with this performance, imo.

          • Jerry Pomroy

Tucker is the biggest back on the squad. 6’1″ 222lbs I believe.

          • All In Eagles

Hmm, good value there, tough decisions ahead. Ultimately, Polk may have to hit the road.

          • Jerry Pomroy

That’s my mindset. If we’re keeping 4, I’ve got Shady, Sproles, Josey & Tucker. All 4 have different skill sets that compliment each other well.

          • All In Eagles

I’d go with the same 4 as well. Polk wasn’t drafted either, I believe, so hopefully there’s no ‘draft class loyalty’. Nothing against Polk though, he looked good when he played.

  • Eagles4Life

FWIW, I just saw McManus miss a 54 yarder live in Jerry World. Go, Parkey!

  • DWS

How well does Josey block? Those stats tonight look great

    • Jerry Pomroy

I honestly don’t think that should be a determining factor. He’s a rookie, but a superior talent to those he’s up against for a roster spot and can learn how to block. For a guy his size, he runs well between the tackles and that’s imperative for the IZR (unless you’re Shady).

  • anon

seems like all of josey’s long runs get called back for holding, it’s a shame he’s got probably 100+yds that should be on the board for him.

  • Andy Six Score and Four

    WE’VE GOT A KICKER!!!!!!!!

  • Andy Six Score and Four

Several of us have been begging for Tucker #3 and Josey #4. Tonight only strengthened the case for that. Polk couldn’t play = you can’t keep him. IR him or release him. Barner is still PS eligible if you don’t want to straight cut him. Polk and Barner are not on the same level as Josey and Tucker as running backs.

And if that performance wasn’t enough for Parkey to take the job from Henery, then there was absolutely no point in having any other kicker in camp. At all. Ever. Parkey is your kicker for the regular season. Smile.

    • Jerry Pomroy

“Parkey is your kicker for the regular season.”

Hopefully. I’d rather live or die on a young strong leg than one I can’t even call on outside of 30yds.

    • Token

To me Polk has some talent. But its a matter of …. How do I phrase this….. RBs are far too common to keep wasting time on a guy that usually has a lingering injury. Shoulder. Hammy. Wasnt it his hip coming out of college? Some bodies just arent made for this.

I fully expect them to keep Polk. But I think it should be Tucker and Josey. Of course now Tucker is banged up too.

      • Andy Six Score and Four

Shoulder coming out of college. Said he played through it for all 4 years or something. But yeah, have to wait and see what’s up with Tucker. Hopefully nothing serious and just didn’t want to Sanchez him (4th preseason game injury).

        • Token

shoulder yea. Its a chronic thing. And hes a RB.

          • Jerry Pomroy

A RB that runs inside & takes a ton of shoulder abuse.

        • Jerry Pomroy

His shoulder problem is degenerative too. Yes he’s had surgery but that only helps, not heals the problem.

      • anon

funny the dude w/ the worst injury has been the healthiest this pre-season

  • Andy Six Score and Four

Oh yeah, and Barkley ended up finding his rhythm and having a decent night. Good for him. But still, Kinne! That touchdown to Burton was NICE.

    • Jerry Pomroy

Honestly, I’d look to see if I could find a trade suitor for Barkley. I’d then carry Foles & Sanchez on the active roster with Kinne on the PS & can be activated if necessary. That frees up a roster spot.

      • Andy Six Score and Four

I’m good with that theory, but I don’t think any team would make a good enough offer.

        • MagatBrackendale

I don’t know. Chip has had plenty of time to decide whether or not Barkley could be a viable Number 2. He has not moved MB up, so…

      • Ryan Stocker

It would be nice, but idk if anyone would trade for him. In all likelihood, Kinne is on the practice squad this year and competes for top backup next year against Barkley. If Barkley looks like crap after 2 years of development, he’ll never be good. I would like to see a trade happen though

  • Token

@Jeff_McLane: Alex Henery said he would have liked to have kicked the 53-yarder. “With that wind.”

    lol

    • anon

      hahahaha

    • Jerry Pomroy

Problem is that it would’ve been 5yds wide right even if he had the distance. He’s done, stick a fork in his a$$ already.

    • OverreacSean Jackson, #culture

He’s so salty. I love it.

    • Jerry Pomroy

Just reread this. Keyword…”Liked” to have kicked it.

  • Saul Wells

    I’m not keeping a 5th WR I want a 4TE I like Burke a lot.

  • Andy Six Score and Four

Kudos to DJ2 for playing a whale of a game. Hopefully he made some other team’s roster with that performance.

    • Say No to Marc Mo From Easton

      Chiefs.

    • eaglespur

yeah, some team’s gonna pick him up. or is it that he’s fantastic against back-ups? i really enjoyed his success too, but then…. oh yeah, its the last game pre-season…

    • Ryan Stocker

I really wish they would replace Brad Smith with Damaris. I really don’t know where this love for Brad Smith. He didn’t do anything last year, and he hasn’t showed anything this year. I think Damaris is just as versatile and faster. You can also put Damaris at punt returner, where he’s looked good, and kick returner until Huff is better

  • Token

Would you get out of that bad Casey contract now and keep Burton as 3rd TE? Hows his blocking?

    • Andy Six Score and Four

Non-existent. He’s got to be a PS lock.

      • Andy Six Score and Four

For the record, I pulled that out of my ass. I just know he’s undersized for a TE.

        • Will, Always Shady in CA

Is he fast enough to be a 5 or 6th WR?

        • Token

Casey is here this year at the most. He saves 4 mil on the cap if hes cut next year. 2 mil if hes cut now. Burton is better then Casey in the passing game. I wonder how he is blocking tho. If hes remotely close, id just send Casey packing.

        • Jerry Pomroy

How’d you get away with the “A” word? I always get censored for that.

Ass? Hmm did it work? I guess so.

          • Jerry Pomroy

I’ve reached new heights. It looks like I was talking to myself and responding…lol.

    • Ryan Stocker

I feel like he’s too small to be a good blocker. He’s 220 lbs and will be going up against 250+

  • Andy Six Score and Four

Braman showed some potential on defense too. Real quick off the line.

  • Kleptolia

I just replaced Robbie Gould with Parkey on my fantasy team.

Didn’t think or blink on it.

    • Andy Six Score and Four

      War Eagle!

      • Kleptolia

DYER WAS DOWN!! HE WAS DOOOOOWWWWWNNNN!!
Sorry I- I have no idea where that came from.

        • Jerry Pomroy

Sounds like somebody’s been hitting the hooka tonight…lol.

        • Andy Six Score and Four

By policy, I cannot talk trash on behalf of my second team. I’m a PSU man at heart.

    • JosephR2225

Well, it’s locked up. They might as well just send you your winnings now.

    • All In Eagles

Haha, maybe wait for them to sign him.

      • Kleptolia

        No! No thinking, no blinking!!!

        :-)

  • AFEagle

Couldn’t watch the game tonight, driving from upstate NY down to PA for some Labor Day fun, but I did get to listen to the broadcast on SiriusXm. Is it bad that I could’ve caused an accident because I was so excited about Parkey nailing a 54 yard and also multiple touchbacks?

I also have to say, if we don’t go into week one with a backfield of Shady, Sproles, Josey, and Tucker, it would be an upset in my opinion. Been very impressed with what I’ve seen/heard from the young backs so far.

    Fly Eagles Fly!

    • AFEagle

      *54 and 53 yarder

  • Eagles1018…Please no more du

I’ve been screaming for a new kicker since we started talking draft back in February. I had Cody Parkey on my radar. And the kid from Rice, can’t remember his name. I’m glad we were able to get him. I hope he makes the team. PLEASE. Not saying he’s the answer but Henery has been here for 3 seasons and isn’t improving but seemingly regressing. Try the kid out. It’s not like we can’t bring in another kicker during the season.

    • Eagles1018…Please no more du

P.S. The big reason I scouted kickers is because I saw another guy in the board that always talked about scouting DTs etc and when I asked him which kickers he like he replied “I don’t care much about kickers. But If you look them up and get back to me I’ll be glad to check it out.” I felt obligated to make a contribution for the good of the board. It was important to me. So I took the time and found out everything I could. Here’s to that man. RIP Geagle

          Everyone remembers a brush with a legend….

    • UncleCarm

Heck, we could bring Henery back… nobody will pick him up, thats for sure.

  • Jerry Pomroy

Do any of you remember when I said that the most NFL ready QB in this years draft was Derek Carr? And some people laughed and said because he was a spread QB, he’d flop. Led team on 4TD drives today & most likely solidified his bid to start over Shaub.

    • Andy Six Score and Four

Nope. Pretty positive you were yeasting up Tahj Boyd. Yup. Definitely Boyd.

The picture made me wonder what Barner and Barkley would have said if you told them back in college that they would be playing together under Chip in the NFL… “Wait, we’re 3rd stringers?!”

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/RipperEagle96?feature=mhee RJ

Well, after this game I don’t see how Josey can be denied making the roster, making the choice of keeping FOUR backs that much easier. And I feel bad for Polk but, this is a “what have you done for me lately” world and, in this world, both Henry AND Matthew Tucker have done a LOT more for us than Polk has. Barner remains interesting because of his return ability, and do we keep him IF Huff won’t be ready for week one?

I have to say I wasn’t blown away by Barkley either. Sure, he’ll make a good third string quarterback, but I don’t think he’s the gem that he was in college. It’s been said that if we didn’t have a promising young QB already in Foles, the onus would be on Chip, Pat, and Bill to really push Barkley to be the man. But thankfully we don’t have to worry about that.

The fifth cornerback spot is also going to be a problem no matter who we keep. Roc and Curtis stink, and Jaylen isn’t endearing himself to anyone. Unless we can find a waiver pickup somewhere that would suffice.

Overall though, definitely ready for nine days, wish we could just set the clock to tomorrow being September 7th already!

I just don’t see Barner’s return ability. I think ideally, you keep Tucker and Josey at RB, and I think it would be better to see Damaris Johnson on this roster than Brad Smith. I think he’s even more versatile than Smith, and looked good on punt returns. Then you can put him at kick return until Huff is healthy.

I don’t know, Barkley had decent numbers, be he had a lot of check downs. His down-field throws were few and a little off. His game speed looks nervous to. Foles, Sanchez, and Kinne all move fast but look calm.

    • Ryan Stocker

If it’s me, I’m trying to trade Barkley while Kinne is on the practice squad. If you trade him, promote Kinne to the roster.

  • Corey Dawson

Anyone else see Momah throwing blocks all over the place? Seems like every time we ran left last night, Momah was 10 yards down the field driving the CB down the side line. Didn’t see him catch anything other than that really nice one across the middle.

  • rogerPerdactor

I think Chris Polk is a goner. I know injuries are unfortunate, but you can’t make the club sitting in the tub,

    • Ryan Stocker

Yea it’s unfortunate but Tucker has the same style and has played more. I hope Tucker and Josey make the roster at 3rd rb and 4th rb. I can see a little bit of Sproles in Josey except a better runner. Have Sproles teach him routes and the in’s and out’s and he has some extreme promise.

Four of the Eagles cuts from the first round of releases were picked up – Joe Kruger by San Diego, two OL by Cleveland, and Emil Egwanagu by someone. Imagine what’s going to happen with the Eagles’ cut downs to 53.
Good roster building job and maybe now the fans will realize you don’t need a retired football player to be your GM/personnel guy.
