Birds 24/7 Is Looking For an Intern

Birds 24/7 is seeking an intern to start in August and work through the 2014 NFL season.

The candidate will help Sheil and Tim update the site, work on special projects and assist with social media. Motivated interns may have opportunities to produce original content, but this is not a writing internship.

The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented and have experience in online journalism. Deep knowledge of the Eagles and the NFL is a must. Knowledge of SEO, web headline writing, Photoshop, WordPress and other content management systems, and professional use of social media is a plus, but not required.

The internship is unpaid. Candidates must be local to the Philadelphia area and currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate program, and are required to receive academic credit for the internship.

Please note that we require interns to put in a minimum of three days a week at our Center City office.

To apply, please e-mail a cover letter and resume to internship coordinator Tim Haas at thaas@phillymag.com.

Be respectful of our online community and contribute to an engaging conversation. We reserve the right to ban impersonators and remove comments that contain personal attacks, threats, or profanity, or are flat-out offensive. i think he is only for the summer, they are looking for somebody for the season

  • myeaglescantwin

I’m in no way an intern, but i would definitely like to get involved haha
    (seriously though)

I’ll take season tickets as payment,
every day i will patrol each comments section for the scam adds that are getting more and more frequent.

My cousin has this weird trick where he makes $5,000 every week. He bets that Dallas will s^*k.

    • dnabrice

At least that means the articles are getting lots of traffic! Go Birds24/7!

      • myeaglescantwin

yeah man, I’ve been flaggin like a made man.
I went to the scambots profile and you can see each time they drop a link.
        flag city

  • jabostick

I would’ve done this in a heartbeat in my undergrad days. Sheil, if you need a mid-30’s correspondent from Western Canada whose best quality is my ability to be distracted from my current office job (oddly specific, I know), I’m your man.

    • MagatBrackendale

Western Canada here too. Also 3 years in a display advertising department at a large daily newspaper (ah, those were some interesting days), Lotus 1-2-3, Excel, Word, WordPerfect, PhotoSuite, online since 1997, still making cinnamon buns and can still change plugs or transmission fluid in the old Honda. Too bad the commute between Philadelphia and Vancouver WOULD get a little pricey.
