I heard Buddy Mitchell sent Matthews a thank you card for that stiff arm.

    • NickS1

Huff smiled as he stiff armed that dude. Just like Hines.

g-d I hate hines so much….but would not mind a clone of him on our team

        • JReamer

I could not have agreed with you more. I despise Hines Ward but would love to have a player like him on the Birds.

        • NickS1

You live in B-more and kind of like the Ravens, right? If I’m correct, then I get why. But even Ravens players/fans that hate him still respect the ish out of him because he’s a tough-as-nails gamer, much like Big Ben…. I grew up in a Steelers fan-filled household. I love Hines. He’s the kind of player that epitomizes the line, “If we had a team full of Hines Wards we’d never lose.” or some version of that.

this; what I meant to say with the “would not mind a clone” bit. Always showed up against Bmore

just an FYI, but Hines and Huff were both drafted third round. Coincidence? I think not.

      • jmkrav

I have a feeling that in 3 years we’ll look back and think “how did the eagles steal josh huff in the 3rd round?” He just strikes me as the “football player” cliche who outplays his measurables. He’s got a mean streak, which is why everyone compares him to Hines, but his lateral agility and excelleration are more explosive. He’s got some Anquan Bolden in him.

        • Richard Colton

you like Huff that much? He’s my least favorite draft pick in the top 5 rounds. I’m hoping he gives them something on ST this year. Not holding out for anything else.

          • NickS1

Initially, I thought he was drafted too soon, but I’ve definitely come around on the kid after reading more about him. Why’s he your least favorite?

          • Richard Colton

Should have said least excited. I was high on Smith and Matthews before the draft (even if Smith went a round or two too high) – I think they’re outstanding picks. Watkins will be the better brother. I’m saying it now. Beau Allen could be the starting nose by week 8.

I think he’ll be hard pressed to catch 20 balls this season. I’m looking for Huff to be a Special Teams playmaker.

          • NickS1

I think this year that’s what he’s going to be. I think in a few years though he can develop into a real player. Could be wrong, just the feeling I get.

  • Andy

They’re growing up right before our eyes.

  • Bullwinkle

Allen looks like he can clog up the middle. His legs are like tree trunks.

    • Johnny Domino

Looks like the kid from the Big Green gave up soccer.

Here is one fan who does care about PED abuse and suspensions.
Baseball’s inability to police itself has turned that sport into “the circus,” IMHO — it’s now just a freak show and its record book is meaningless.
My interest in the NFL is dependent on athletes being athletic and not merely freaks of nature.
Frankly, the more free time spent exercising and out doors and not in front of a screen, the better.

Where is the pope’s halo and scepter? WTF Paunil?

  • Addicted2MAmula

Shady, Foles, Pope, Maclin. Sproles. Defense that will get better.
