Video: Kelly Explains Plan To Cooper

A couple good video links to share this evening.

The first is only five seconds. It’s Chip Kelly answering a Riley Cooper question on the sidelines.

The second is linked on PhiladelphiaEagles.com. It's Trent Cole mic'd up during last week's three-sack game. Definitely worth your time.

Translation: “EVERYONE STOP PRAISING THE TEAM I DESPISE!!!”

For putting up a 54-11 beatdown of a playoff contender on primetime I haven’t seen all that much flavor of the week talk. Most power rankings have the Eagles in just about the same spot and the narrative I’ve seen just blames Chicago for not playing with any focus or heart or whatever they can blame besides the Eagles being a better team.

      • Explorer51

There are lots of “yeah, but…” qualifying statements being made. I think it’s hard for the people who position themselves as NFL experts and insiders to reconsider their “the league will figure out this college coach” stance (which presumes that he then can’t figure out what they’ve figured out!). Regardless of what happens this year, what is truly remarkable is that he took a team with a modest amount of talent, with little depth (thanks to several dreadful drafts and wasted FA signings), in a very demanding and skeptical media/fan environment, and is on the cusp of a significant turnaround. In reality, he and the Eagles have won nothing tangible yet…except the hearts and minds of a growing number of people, including me. The future looks bright, which is the first time I’ve thought this about the Eagles since 2004.

“What’s your plan”. I love this guy

By the way, the Eagles unsung hero this season is… Brent Celek. Considering that his statistics have been cut in half, due to Chip’s system, he’s been the most outspoken Eagle when it comes to how well this team is being run. When you think about it, has there been a stronger leader this year?

    • BleedGreenJames

What a relief as well. I was very nervous that Chip would have problems winning over the team because I thought we had questionable leadership in all honesty. I’m so glad that has been put to rest. We might not have a Dawk, but we have a lot of guys stepping up as voices and great players, and Super Bowl or not, that is very exciting.

The real help is that we have no Dez Bryants. No divas. We have 3 kinds of players on this team. Leaders: Ryans, Vick, Kelce, Barwin, Cole, Celek, Shady, Avant, etc. Quiet do your job guys: Foles, Cooper, Peters, Mathis, Cox, Thorton, Fletcher, Kendrichs, etc. Kids at heart who aren’t leaders or enigmas: Desean, Cary Williams. As long as you keep the amount of Desean like players on the team down (who on their own aren’t much of an issue) and you have a handful of leaders, your team will be generally good.

Agreed. I give Michael Vick a ton of credit too. He has handled himself really well and has been a real team guy and a leader this year.

      • BigWhoopWannaFightAboutIt

Man am I happy that we can finally move past the Vick experiment. That said, I think I respect Vick more than any other pro football player. He has more heart than anyone else in the league. He is the quintessential professional, especially this year but in general as well.

I’m just glad he isn’t starting. I’d be ecstatic if he were Foles’ backup next year.

This reminds me of, “World Fucking Champions!” It’s okay to dream.

Simple: f’ing score points, what’s your plan?
    Grip it and rip it.
Big people beat up little people
If they go small we smash em
Not gonna fall for the banana in the tail pipe trick.
Not smart enough to call three s’tty plays in a row.
    Called Canton, where’s my trophy

Anyone have the pregame huddle video of “F Dallas on three!”?! NFL has it in their Preview of the game (2:30 mark). Priceless!
