Report: Peterson, Gerhart Out

The Eagles will be facing a banged-up Vikings rushing attack, according to a report.

Per Sean Jensen of K-TWIN in Minnesota, the Vikings will be without both Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart.

Matt Asiata (5-11, 209) had three carries for 9 yards last year, but does not have a rushing attempt this season. The second-year back out of Utah is more power runner than speedster, according to this NFL.com profile.

Banyard (5-11, 205) does not have an NFL carry. He spent 2012 on the Vikings' practice squad.

Fully expect Matt forte to go down this week

    • cliff henny

maybe kelly is using the Seals for more than sports science?

  • Justin

    I’m heartbroken. Truly.

  • GEAGLE

Come on man….I wanted to watch my beloved run defense shut this ish down!!! Containing a bruiser like AP is good gut check practice for when we face BEASTMODE in January :)

    • G_WallyHunter

Ya this is good point but whatever, we’ll have forte and Murray to finish season, we should all be happy about this wins more important than playing the best RB in league

      • Jmkrav

The eagles play again a the best RB in the league every day in practice. It’s a shame they are missing #2 this week.

        • G_WallyHunter

          Ha! Good one

    • cliff henny

nope, i’ll be perfectly happy seeing him in sweats. wont feel one ounce of shame in eagles 9-5 record.

      • GEAGLE

We were getting that 9-5 record either way today…oh well…at the end of the day crush whoever is in front of you!

        • cliff henny

those players Vikes are putting out on field are paid professions. next year i’ll be more concerned with the who’s and the how’s in eagles’ victories…this year, just concerned with how many.

          • Dominik

            Double down on that statement.

Also it doesn’t hurt my sport betting account, in which I invested pretty much on the Eagles this weekend. I was and I am pretty sure that they’ll win this game.

          • cliff henny

this screams teaser game, get eagles +2, push o/u up to 57 take under cause 4th qu kelly will take air out of ball.
            .
learned a long LONG time ago, never bet on Eagles

          • Dominik

I almost never bet on the Eagles, too. I’m freaked out enough if they lose and I’m happy enough if they win, don’t need money on the line there. Altough I’d never bet against the Eagles, doesn’t matter how good the odds are.

That being said: I thought AP wouldn’t play and I don’t know how the Eagles don’t get their spread covered. But like others said: It’s almost too easy, something MUST go wrong.

But I’m trusting Kelly on this one. If we play our game, there’s no way the Vikings are gonna beat us. They “just” need to be focused. Kelly will get the job done I think.

          • GEAGLE

At the end of the day, I just wanna kick whoevers ass that’s in front of us….I wouldn’t be asking for AP, if I didn’t think we would shut him down…handle our business and the names on the backs of opposing jerseys don’t even matter

    • BlindChow

Nah, we’ll take care of Lynch the same way we’ve been taking care of all the running backs we face: with a freak pre-game injury.

  • Richard Colton

we should lend them Chris Polk, just to make it fair.

    • cliff henny

give them Chung, he already has plenty of practice in hitting Eagles’ players

      • mtn_green

Rewatched lions game Chung was ok

        • GEAGLE

That’s cause the snow slowed him down :)

          • cliff henny

dont even remember seeing or hearing him mentioned. hope we get another 3+ hrs of silent chung.

  • Token

Hmmmm. This game seems too easy. I dont like it.

    • Andy124

I know what you mean. Part of being an Iggles fan… for now.

      • GEAGLE

        Them days are over

        • Andy124

Hey, some of us heal more slowly. lol

    • G_WallyHunter

Agreed, we can rest assured at half when it’s 35-3 (hopefully)

    • Richard Colton

you, me, and ADM Ackbar. I can’t even explain it. Maybe because its the kind of game Andy’s teams would always come out flat for.

      • DirtyWaters

I got a bad feeling about this.

        • Richard Colton

          never tell me the odds

          • DirtyWaters

            Great, kid. Don’t get cocky.

          • Richard Colton

            I know

          • DirtyWaters

Hahaha. I was thinking that one but it just seemed a little creepy for game day.

          • Richard Colton

it worked. better than dipping into episodes 1, 2, or 3 for material. Have to have standards.

          • DirtyWaters

That would be like looking into the 2011 or 2012 season for big plays.

      • Token

I think thats exactly it. The Eagles ive know for the past decade plus would lose this game. They would just coming out looking like they forgot there was a game.

Hopefully the Chip Kelly Eagles handle this much differently. They should absolutely win this game.

Its annoying how this breaks down in a way. Even if the Eagles win today and the Boys lose, the last game is still for the division most likely. .

That can only be “most likely” if you think it’s “most likely” that we lose to Chicago at home next week. While it’s a very real possibility, I don’t think it’s “most likely”.

        • Tom w

No it won’t be. If we win and boyz lose we go up two games. Handle business next week and wk 17 is meaningless. Unless you predicting a loss for us next week but I’m not against that horrific defense and sloppy cutler

          • Token

O my bad. Guess I didnt think about it. So win today and Boyz lose…..then beat Chicago to get a bye week for the Cowboys game. Got it.

Bears game will be tough those I think.

        • BlindChow

They would just coming out looking like they forgot there was a game.

Remember that one game last year when Nnamdi came out in his PJ’s, looked around the stadium and was all like “OMG game day!” and quickly ran back into the locker room?

          • Andy124

I thought there were 16 of those.

  • DirtyWaters

I fear the unknown and teams with nothing to lose. That being said, I think we take care of business.

  • Beastmode

If Andy was the coach I’d be worried. This will be a fairly easy win for Seal Team 6.

    • G_WallyHunter

      Seal Team commanding General Huls

  • Andy124

    Michele Steele. That is all.
