Making Sense Of the Eagles’ Inactives

chipkelly_400_102613The following Eagles are inactive for today’s game against the Lions: QB Matt Barkley, safety Earl Wolff, CB Curtis Marsh, RB Matthew Tucker, LB Najee Goode, OT Matt Tobin and OT Dennis Kelly.

Goode suffered a hamstring injury last week. Emmanuel Acho takes his place on the gameday roster.

Wolff will miss his third consecutive game after suffering a knee injury against the Packers. Patrick Chung will start alongside Nate Allen at safety.

The Eagles once again have six wide receivers active: DeSean Jackson, Riley Cooper, Jason Avant, Jeff Maehl, Damaris Johnson and Brad Smith. Maehl suffered a concussion last week, but has been cleared to play. When Maehl was sidelined against Arizona, Smith took his snaps.

Allen Barbre (G/T) and Julian Vandervelde (center) are the backup offensive linemen.

The Eagles have four active cornerbacks: Cary Williams, Bradley Fletcher, Brandon Boykin and Roc Carmichael.

For the Lions, Reggie Bush (calf) and Calvin Johnson (knee) are active. CB Darius Slay (knee) is out.

All I know is that I just looked outside my window and it’s covered in snow…where did all this snow come from? Lol sorry dome pansies

    • G_WallyHunter

Hallelujah, took the over on 54 pts, let’s hope it’s still somewhat of a shootout

      • GEAGLE

        52-3 eagles works too! :)
I was outside with my dogs an hour ago and their was no snow in site, the reports were it would snow in The second half…an hour late I look outside and it’s literally covered in snow

        • G_WallyHunter

I’ll take that. got them by 8 too. I know I shouldn’t bet on them like that but just can’t help it

          • GEAGLE

Been there…know the feeling. Wait what? You have the eagles minus 8?

          • G_WallyHunter

on one of my tickets yea I have them winning by 8. Just the way the government likes to do lottery sports betting with OLG, it’s pretty sheisty (don’t know if it’s like that with other govt. gaming corps., I imagine so). You pick either win by 4, win by 8, or a tie (within 3 pts). Took Eags by 8 they’re favoured by 2.5.

          • GEAGLE

Oh damn…for us, I think the line is minus 3…we can only bet the set line, but you can do a teaser and add 6pts to any line…I stopped betting football, only thing I gamble on these days is Mixed martial on man battle, much less factors to worry about

          • bgreen

            u from CANADA

          • GEAGLE

            It’s Canadia

          • G_WallyHunter

            Canadia Land, that is correct

          • DirtyWaters

            The metric line.

let’s all hold hands and say a pregame prayer that Chunger doesn’t take out any of our guys today

    • G_WallyHunter

and worse yet, injure a teammate.

Holy Lords and Saviours of football, please give Chunger better direction and thought processes today, for he is a loose cannon out there, like a heat-seeking drone attack directed at anyone on either team, please direct him to the baby blue jerseys (enemies).

      • GEAGLE

      • Josh Jordan

I swear when I see him approaching a play, it is like this is his process…”Ok, I’m within 3 to 4 steps, I’m gonna close my eyes, launch myself and hope for the best!”
Dear Lord, we pray that you allow Chung to have his eyes opened as he wildly throws himself in the general vicinity of the opposing teams ball carrier and deliver his teammates from his closed eye blindness, Amen.

        • G_WallyHunter

haha that’s exactly it, looks like he just takes a shot in the dark

  • Token

Its really coming down in Philly. Dont know what team the snow favors. Obviously the Lions are a dome team. But I want to see how Foles handles the elements. And we are a speed team.

    • Token

      I admit im worried.

Worried about Foles throwing in this weather. Worried about it taking away our speed advantage.

Stafford has a rocket so I dont think the weather is a issue for them.

Not to mention theres a ton of pressure on the team today. Really really curious to see what happens today. HYPED!

    • cliff henny

teams…guess can go back and forth, still think bush is fumble prone, and wide 9 is built on speed so edge rushers will be limited.
big difference has to be coaching and play calls. chipper in oregon is no stranger to crappy weather games, and sure he has been prepping foles all week.

  • Matchingplaid

Anyone know how tucker is coming along? It seems he could be a boost keeping a lead in the fourth, being a big back that could shed tired tackles.

    • GEAGLE

Rather watch Polk rumble young man rumble

  • Andy

Anybody else surprised that Curtis Marsh is still on the roster?
