Podcast: Birds 24/7 Radio, Week 11

Herm Edwards definitively stated that Nick Foles is not an elite/franchise quarterback. Is it too soon to pass that kind of judgement, or is Edwards spot on?

Sheil and Tim offer their takes.

Herm would’ve probably said that about Tom Brady after only a few starts too. He probably also said that Kaep WAS a franchise QB after only a few starts. The point is we don’t know what Foles is yet, but neither does Herm. Flacco wasn’t a “franchise” QB until he won a ring. I guess that’s just today’s NFL.

How good is Herm Edwards QB evaluation. His starting QB’s over his head coaching career:

    Vinny Testaverty
    Chad Pennington
    Brooks Bollinger
    Damon Huard
    Trent Green
    Brodie Croyle
    Tyler Thigpen

    ’nuff said.

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Herm knows D but couldn’t be more clueless about anything offense-related. Stick to what you know Herm.

      You forgot Quincy Carter.

What’s funny is people bash Foles for what he did last year yet his rookie stats are very comparable to the likes of the Mannings’s (both), Brees’s, and Brady’s first years as starters. Also people kill Foles about the Dallas game. Go look at Brady’s 3rd career start. 12-24 86 yds. Dreadful.

hooked again on the A-train.. I wonder what hyper Herm would say about a back up QB from Michigan? or Maybe a kid who bagged groceries, before he went on to be one of the most accurate passers ever?
