Making Sense Of the Eagles’ Inactives

The following Eagles are inactive for today’s game against the Oakland Raiders: QB Michael Vick, RB Matthew Tucker, LB Jake Knott, OT Matt Tobin, OT Dennis Kelly and WR B.J. Cunningham.

The Eagles’ roster is at 52 so they only have six inactives today.

Vick is inactive for the second time in three weeks. He tried playing last week against the Giants, but re-injured his hamstring. Matt Barkley will back up Nick Foles. James Casey is the emergency QB.

Patrick Chung had been inactive for the previous two games, but he’ll dress this afternoon. Earl Wolff will get the start at safety alongside Nate Allen. We’ll see how much Chung (shoulder) is able to do.

Damaris Johnson had been questionable with an ankle injury, but he’ll dress.

On the defensive line, rookie Damion Square is active for the first time since Week 2. With Isaac Sopoaga in New England, Bennie Logan is expected to get the start at nose tackle.

No other real surprises. Knott has a hamstring injury. DeMeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks will start as usual. Casey Matthews and Najee Goode are the backups.

The Eagles’ backup offensive linemen are Allen Barbre and Julian Vandervelde.
