Vick Probable For Sunday

Mike Vick running with football on sidelineMichael Vick was a full participant at practice for the third straight day and is listed as probable for Sunday’s home tilt against the Giants.

Friday is a walkthrough day for the Eagles, though Vick said he was going to give his hamstring a final test by sprinting 100 yards. Apparently that exercise went fine. Vick is expected to start against New York after sitting the last two-plus games out.

Nick Foles has been ruled out for this game because of a concussion. As of Thursday he had yet to pass the imPACT test. Jake Knott (hamstring) is also out this week.

Patrick Chung (shoulder) and Cedric Thornton (knee) are questionable. Both players were limited at practice this week.

Bradley Fletcher (knee),  Donnie Jones (left foot),  Jason Peters (shoulder, finger) and Chris Polk (shoulder) are probable.

Thorton injury is big. Either we’re going to see more Curry (yay) or more Spooky (boo).

Vick will just have to do what he can do from the pocket. If he goes down the game is over.

    • anon

Sad given we wasted a 4th rounder on Howie’s favorite QB.

  • Will

Vick doesn’t hold up this game against the Gnats we are in serious
trouble with no shot at winning. I have zero confidence in Barkley and
GJ Kinne is a total unknown. If GJ is a drop off from Barkley in his
    game oh brother.

    • cliff henny

GJ is a running joke. if he’s the qb for any extended time, let’s put it nicely, at least your Sunday’s have been freed up

      • Richard Colton

Dixon is a running joke. Kinne is a pocket passing joke.

    lane johnson, future pro bowl…….qb

So hard to go from pulling for this team one week to rooting against them the next but I’ll manage I suppose. It is what it is.

^ The epitome of what’s wrong with Eagles fans. Why the hell would you ever call yourself a fan of a team you’re going to root against?

And you people ride me so hard….

        • Adam

Naw you’re just a Cowboys fan

look I’m gonna be honest… towards the very end of last year, I was secretly hoping for them to lose. But this year, rooting for a high draft pick is counter productive. I want them to win every game. I want them to win the division. I dont care if its vick, foles, barkley, lane johnson, gj kinne, koy detmer, huey lewis, george the animal steele, whoever; I dont care who plays qb. I want the eagles and chip kelly to prove they have the foundation for something.

So far it is what I what I expected: ups and downs, flashes of something special, and a rotating door at the QB position. Winning games is the best road to take when it comes to turning the team in the right direction. High draft picks dont always pan out. Sometimes teams are forced to take a star, high rated guy when they’d feel better off taking the guy they like a little lower.

to sum this up, I have no idea what Im talking about. but this sounded good in my head at the time. over and out.

      Go away.

I think this is a mistake, period. Vick should not play, true this is a critical division game, but if Vick hurts himself further winning this game would be meaningless because that leaves Barkley to complete the season. It’s a easier lift playing Barkley against the Giants, and leaving him to pick apart the Giants linebackers who are no where as active as the Cowboys linebackers in pass coverage.

Given the option I’d rather Vick was 90% completing the season stretch than Barkley under a contingency. And Foles, even if he passes the protocol for the concussion in the coming weeks has proven he is very fragile in the pocket so we are still ensured of a Barkley sighting before the season ends.
