NFL.com just released its unofficial free-agent list for 2013. It’s time to start looking at some names.
Free agency opens on March 12 at 4 p.m. We will be doing plenty on free agency as we get closer, zeroing in on available players at key positions of need for the Eagles. Let’s start off by taking a look at the safety market.
New defensive backs coach John Lovett and the rest of the coaching staff is just getting settled in. The plan with the secondary is to study film and talk with the current players on the roster before focusing in on the free agents. This is the group they will soon be be evaluating:
James Sanders, Ari
Chris Hope, Atl
William Moore, Atl - Had four interceptions and eight passes defensed in 12 starts for the Falcons in 2012. The 27-year-old has missed eight games over the past two season due to injury. He reportedly plans on testing the free-agent market if Atlanta doesn’t use the franchise tag on him.
Sean Considine, Bal
James Ihedigbo, Bal
Ed Reed, Bal The Ravens are hopeful they can keep the 34-year-old in Baltimore, but it seems the Ravens will have to make some cap-related sacrifices this offseason. Reed’s name has been connected to the Patriots.
