Fletcher Cox Selected To All-Rookie Team

Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox was selected to Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team.

Cox led all rookie defensive tackles with 5 1/2 sacks this season. He also paced the Eagles’ defensive line with 65 total tackles, seven for a loss. According to the stats kept by the team, the former first-round pick finished with 24 hurries.

Cox made Mel Kiper’s list as well.

As he got more comfortable, the first-rounder out of Mississippi State became a lot more disruptive. He finished the season with 4.5 sacks over the final seven games and should be a fixture for the Eagles going forward. Cox has a chance to become a Pro Bowl-level interior lineman.

I thought Fletcher Cox was not only All-Rookie, but our Defensive MVP. Best defender on the team, though that is damning him with faint praise.
