Clay Harbor Placed On Injured Reserve

Philadelphia Eagles TE Clay Harbor.Clay Harbor has been placed on injured reserve with a lower back injury, the team announced Tuesday. No corresponding move has been made as of yet.

Harbor sustained a back contusion on Thursday night against the Bengals.

The third-year tight end out of Missouri State finishes the season with 25 receptions for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was the primary tight end against Cincinnati as Brent Celek sat out with a concussion, and caught three passes for 30 yards.

Celek has been cleared to return and is expected to play against the Redskins Sunday. In his absence the Eagles activated Emil Igwenagu, who will likely get some playing time against Washington now that Harbor is out.

Business decision, he is probably in the iggs future plans. See Shady, DJAX, Celek, etc. They would get fined if they just sat starters that were healthy. It is the 21st century and all we know is it is a “lower back injury?

If we didn’t have a million bigger fish to fry, I would want Celek and harbors heads both n the chopping block! One thing the 2013 eagles MUST have, especially if we will feature shady AND BRYCE is an ABOVE average BEAST of a BLOCKNG TIGHT END! They don’t cost anything, and there is. No excuse to not have one….keep in mind that the is a big difference between a pass catching TE who is good at blocking, and a real LEGIT BLOCKING TE!

A backup TE who can’t block anyone is in their plans? Tell me why simpleton

      • xlGmanlx

Three words – cheap, special teams

        • The Guru

And you can find a better player who blocks for just as cheap. Nice try though. #epicfail

Since buffalo isn’t playing for anything either, can we just sign Jarius Bryd away from them now, or do we have to wait til FA? Lol poach the hell out of him, the way we did Jason peters lol

  • canadianeagles

no way buffalo lets Jarius Byrd leave town…sorry folks

    • Johngiam

He isn’t restricted…so what do I care how they feel? Throw him enough money and get him out oft hat small market sess pool lol

goodbye clay, i want all of the andy reid guys off this team.. u can tell who the hand picked ones were. the reno mahes of the world. get a back up tight end that can block. and if he can catch a little i would nt mind shipping brent outta here too

    • Johngiam

yeah, I don’t know if we can get two new TE THIS offseason…but BOTH clay and Brent need to be one by the end of next season!!! Give me an elite pass catching tightend. Can’t compete without one in todays nfl…and give me a REAL BOCKING TE, basically a sixth lineman…don’t know when we get these two new tight ends, but they both need to be replaced sooner rather then later. Celek has the balls to call himself a leader…starting QB gets hurt, rookie comes into the game..and instead of stepping up and rallying as that veteran leader, balls are tipping off his hands and into defenders laps….HE HAS TO GO!!! I don’t care how many people he hurdles, when it got tough, he showed his true colors. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

people like the guy because of his toughness. i’ll take talent over toughnes. too many drops and he’s actually not that tough because he gets mauled whenever he has to block one on one
