Making Sense Of the Inactives

Here are the Eagles inactives for Sunday night’s game against the Giants: Riley Cooper, Dion Lewis, Colt Anderson, Akeem Jordan, King Dunlap, Nate Menkin and Vinny Curry.

Demetress Bell gets the start at left tackle once again with Dunlap (hamstring) sidelined for the second straight week. Jamar Chaney will start for Jordan at weakside linebacker.

The last two weeks Trent Edwards did not dress, but will for the Giants game.

Colt Anderson (knee) was listed as questionable on the injury report. The Eagles, though, will be without their special teams ace. On the bright side for Bobby April, longsnapper Jon Dorenbos (ankle) will play against New York.

Some big names will be sitting out for the Giants. Hakeem Nicks (knee) is officially out. Same goes for tackle David Diehl and linebacker Keith Rivers. Will Beatty will be in charge of Eli Manning’s blindside at left tackle. Sean Locklear moves over to right tackle in Diehl’s absence.

The Eagles get a big break with Nicks missing the game. Starting in Nicks’ place will be Domenik Hixon.
