Report: Eagles To Release Hall, Brackett

The Eagles roster is beginning to take shape.

Wide receiver Chad Hall will be released today, according to multiple reports. Hall was thought to be on the bubble as the Eagles trim their roster down to 53.

With Mardy Gilyard also being released, there is a good shot that the Eagles go with five wide receivers: DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Riley Cooper and Damaris Johnson. It also opens the door for the possibility of the Eagles retaining four running backs.

With cuts coming down, running back Chris Polk had yet to receive any bad news as of early Friday afternoon.

Update: The team will also cut tight end Brett Brackett, according to the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane.
