Updated: Brady Will Not Play Against Eagles

UPDATED: According to the Boston Herald, Tom Brady will not play Monday night against the Eagles.

He is not alone. Jerod Mayo, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski and Brandon Lloyd also will not suit up, per the NFL Network.

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN Boston, Brady, Lloyd and  Gronkowski worked off to the side at practice Friday while the rest of the team was prepping for the game. Meanwhile, Welker left early Friday (apparently non-injury related).

This puts a bit of a damper on the prime time festivities. Several of the Eagles newcomers, like Mychal Kendricks and Brandon Boykin, were looking forward to the challenge of going up against the best the league had to offer.

Because of the funky preseason schedule the Eagles were handed, Andy Reid plans on playing his starters for at least a half as if this was the team’s third preseason tilt. It will be more difficult to judge their effectiveness now that they’re facing off against reserves primarily.

I wouldn’t play Brady much either against the hard rushing Eagles in a preseason game. The Eagles have a bunch of guys fighting for spots on the D-line that would love to get their licks in on Brady. Belichick is a pretty smart guy and probably sees little upside to playing Brady.

This explains why the Eagles are talking up their preparation for this game. They must have had some inside info in advance of this report. I mean why else would they leave themselves no excuses?

They are talking up this game because our week 3 game, which is usually the preseason game that teams use as a ramp up game for the regular season, is against Cleveland, who we play in week 1. They don’t want to give Cleveland and good look at what we’re doing so they’re doing it against New England.

Would this be the same “smart” Bellichik that cheated his way to a Super Bowl?

And Brady needs to lace up, pretty boy is gonna get slammed sooner I later, don’t hey me wrong, he is a sensational QB, however his coach is a joke and Brady is a all about the money, that’s it!

Yes. Sad that he uses his smarts to cheat.
