If he continues to be as productive as he’s been for the past 150 ball games, Burrell could end up as one of the most beloved players in Phillie history—a guy who stoically withstood several seasons’ worth of boos before turning his game around. If there’s anything Philly loves more than a winner, it’s a loser who knows he’s a loser but keeps fighting and turns into a winner, even though secretly he might still be kind of a loser.
