Best of Philly 2010: New BYOB

The name may be offbeat, but there’s nothing off about the traditional Portuguese fare at this rustic NoLibs spot. Chef/owners David Gilberg and Carla Gonçalves have made it everything a BYOB should be (and was, before the era of the $30 entrée): cozy, unpretentious and delicious. And shareable portions of dishes like shrimp piri piri and the savory pork and clams make it a bargain to boot. Don’t miss Gonçalves’s unreal desserts, like the bolo de bolacha: buttercream-covered, coffee-soaked wafers layered with seasonal fruit compote. It’s like the best tiramisu you’ve ever had, only better.
